We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Spence and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, do you have a budget?
I have a very loose budget when it comes to exploring my city for the best bites and interesting activities. Due to the constant growth we are seeing in the Metroplex there are more and more businesses and events popping up almost daily so you have to be open to exploring at any giving time to capture amazing content.

With my 9-5 being a remote job I am able to cut cost of commuting and having a lunch budget so that definitely helps.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So I’m a Foodie and Explorer which means for those who aren’t hip to these trendy terms is just a person that likes to capture high quality photos and/or videos of food and activities I eat and do when I venture out.

I honestly believe that my love for photography, videography and emerging technology in that realm really help me stay in the mix of things. I’ve picked up Aerial photography aka Droning, a Mirrorless Canon to improve my quality and several professional editing apps like Lightroom all because of this journey. Staying active and challenging myself to become better has been the main thing that has pushed me this far.

I think the hardest part of this journey was staying motivated during the pandemic. That was definitely a huge adjustment for creatives like myself who thrived on getting out and exploring. Thanks to current encourage from my wife the brand was able to pivot a bit to fill in the gap by leaning into more nature adventures and like minded activities.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned would have to be build connections with like minded people you can’t grow on your own so don’t be afraid to communicate with other creatives and businesses.

I want others to know that Bexploresdallas is relatable and real. I’m just a cool guy that loves to share knowledge with others to help them find joyful and exciting moments in life!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is a hard one but I would say if I had to choose a few places it would be listed below.

To Eat: Terry Black (Great BBQ), Pho Crimson (Best Pho) Wing Daddy (Best wings) Perry’s Top Floor (Our Fav High End Restaurant), La Ventana (Best Street Taco’s), Campuzano Mexican Food (Best Mexican Food), Legacy Hall (Food Hall), Central Market just to name a few regular spots we hit.

To Drink: Atlas Bar, Catbird, Wowowleamonade, Starbucks Reserve, Campuzano Mexican Food, Tipsy Alchemist, Parliment…

To See: Park behind Reunion Tower (best unseen view of downtown Dallas), Trinity Skyline Trail, Trammell Crow Park, White Rock, Klyde Warren Park, Bishop Arts District

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a S/O to my wife, Chuntel Spence for really sticking through this journey with me. She’s my model for most of my content and occasionally photography when I’m having a creative block. She’s always ready to go hit the town with me at a moments notice and for that I really appreciate her.
