We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Luck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Mom’s choice mobile health is a company of nurse practitioners that provide medical care int he comfort of your home. This is the way medicine used to be, and in my opinion, should still be today. When you are sick, the last thing you want to do is get dressed and go to the doctor’s office and honestly, the other people in the office probably do not want you there either. That is why our company is so unique and valuable- because we provide a service of necessity, medical care, with convenience and comfort allowing you to stay in your home and rest. We particularly focus on the pediatric community which is even better because working parents with an increasing number of things to do each day can utilize this convenient fast service while not having to rework their whole day. In summary, Mom’s choice mobile health helps the community by providing quality medical care at home while reducing stress and lowering risk of spreading germs.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a pediatric nurse practitioner that takes care of sick kids in their home. I work for a company called Mom’s Choice Mobile Health which is essentially an urgent care on wheels. We come to you wherever you are- at home, school/daycare, work, etc and provide the medical care you need on your schedule. We function like concierge medicine but accept most insurance carriers making our services more affordable for everyone. I always knew from an early age I wanted to take care of children when I was older. There is something magical to me about seeing the world through a child’s eyes and helping them grow into the person they are meant to be. Upon completion of my Nurse Practitioner degree, I worked in a traditional pediatric office for a while before finding my true passion in mobile medicine. It has not always been easy but what I do is so rewarding. I truly love what I do, and I think that is what sets me a part from other health care providers. I am not in this field for the money or the fame- but for the kids I get to take care of and watch grow up!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a tough question- dallas has so many fun things to do! I love food and like to call myself a bit of a foodie so most of my recommendations will somehow revolve around good food.
An ideal day with friends/family visiting or just a day off with myself would include:
Morning- power sculpt at ritual one or soulcycle class followed by a green juice/smoothie or acai bowl from Nekter or Vitality Bowls
Lunch- R&D Kitchen or True Food. You cannot go wrong with either place!
Midday- Go visit the Arboretum or take a walk at White Rock lake with my dog, Cookie
Dinner- Hudson house, Il Bracco, Moxies, or Fachini. All of these are trendy with amazing food and drinks!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people that deserve to be recognized in the success of Mom’s Choice Mobile. Stephanie Guignard is the one who had the idea and started the company in Mckinney. She has put her heart and soul into making this company successful! The other providers, Stephanie Weatherby and Ashley Seitzer, have worked tirelessly to grow their respective territories by marketing as well as providing quality care to each patient they encounter. For me personally running the Dallas market, I have to recognize the support of my husband, Shawn. He understands the demands of growing and running a business especially one that takes care of people. He encourages me and allows me to sometimes be absent due to taking care of my patients. Every person involved in this company plays a major role in keeping us afloat and able to do what we love to do which is caring for people in their home.
