Meet Brandie Pyburn

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandie Pyburn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandie, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Dallas, Texas — born and raised in a city that showed me both sides of life. My foundation was rooted in the church; I grew up surrounded by prayer, praise, and the presence of God. But like many, I also encountered the pull of the streets. I navigated two very different worlds — one filled with spiritual discipline, and the other with survival and street smarts.
That tension shaped me. It taught me resilience, discernment, and how to carry the weight of purpose even in pressure. The church gave me identity. The streets gave me experience. Together, they formed a bold, faith-filled woman who knows how to meet people where they are — because I’ve been there. My background didn’t break me; it built me. And today, I use every part of that journey to lead, love, and lift others higher.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work is deeply rooted in ministry, mentorship, and the power of story. I’m the Founder of Sisterhood Through God’s Plan Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and youth through faith, truth, and healing. I’m also an author, pastor, spiritual life coach, and publisher. Everything I do centers around helping others find their voice, break free from generational cycles, and walk boldly in their God-given purpose.
What sets me apart is my authenticity. I don’t just teach the Word — I’ve lived it. From betrayal and brokenness to redemption and leadership, I bring the full weight of my experiences into every space I enter. I create safe places for the overlooked, the misunderstood, and the ones who’ve been told they’re “too far gone.”
I’m most proud of the lives that have been transformed — not just inspired, but truly changed. Seeing young people come to know Jesus, watching women rebuild after trauma, and hearing testimonies of healing and breakthrough… that’s the reward.
How did I get here?
Not easily. The path was filled with pain, rejection, and hard lessons. I’ve had to battle through self-doubt, betrayal from those I trusted, and seasons where I was building while bleeding. But God never let me quit. Through prayer, therapy, mentorship, and sheer grit, I kept showing up — even when it hurt.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that your pain can become your platform if you surrender it to God. I’ve also learned that you don’t need a perfect past to fulfill a powerful purpose. Obedience opens doors that hustle never could.
What do I want the world to know?
That my brand is more than a ministry — it’s a movement. It’s about restoring identity, breaking chains, and teaching people how to live free in truth. My story is proof that God can use anyone. If He did it for me, He can do it for you too. So if you’re searching, doubting, or barely holding on — don’t count yourself out. You’re still in the plan.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Dallas for a week, we’d do it right — a perfect mix of faith, food, fun, and a little soul care. Here’s how I’d show them the best time ever:
Day 1: Welcome + Soulful Dinner
We’d kick things off with a relaxing spa day at The Spa at The Joule downtown — perfect to unwind and reset. Afterward, dinner at Pangea Restaurant & Bar in Garland, a Black-owned gem serving upscale Southern cuisine with a modern twist. (Yes, the lamb chops are everything.)
Day 2: Faith & Culture
We’d start with morning prayer and worship at my church or a local faith-based experience. Then head to the African American Museum of Dallas at Fair Park. It’s a powerful reminder of our heritage and resilience. For lunch, we’re hitting up Kitchen + Kocktails for creative cocktails and soul food in a lively atmosphere.
Day 3: The Creative Experience
A day for creativity — we’d check out Deep Ellum for murals, live music, and good vibes. Coffee from Mokah Coffee Bar, followed by a walk through Klyde Warren Park. Dinner at XOXO Dining Room, for its over-the-top decor, pink everything, and picture-worthy plates.
Day 4: Nature & Reflection
We’d visit Arbor Hills Nature Preserve or the Dallas Arboretum to breathe in the beauty and spend time reflecting, praying, and journaling. It’s the perfect mid-week reset. Grab smoothies or brunch at First Watch on the way back.
Day 5: Empowerment + Shopping
We’d support local — a stop at a Black-owned bookstore like Pan-African Connection, then some retail therapy at NorthPark Center or boutique shops in Bishop Arts District. Dinner at The Monarch — high views, elegant vibes, and that lobster pasta? Whew!
Day 6: Fellowship & Fun
Host a Sisterhood Night In — worship music, snacks, testimonies, and maybe even a vision board session. Or, if we’re stepping out, catch a local spoken word event or gospel night at a lounge like Sandaga 813.
Day 7: Brunch + Goodbyes
No trip ends without brunch at Yolk or The Biscuit Bar, then a quiet walk at White Rock Lake to pray, talk about what God’s doing, and plan the next trip.
⸻
Dallas has so much to offer — food, faith, fellowship, and fire experiences. And the best part is that no matter where we go, we carry purpose and joy with us. That’s what makes the memories stick.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely. No journey is made alone, and mine is no exception. First and foremost, I give all glory to God, who has kept me, guided me, and never let go — even when I tried to walk away. His grace is the foundation of every success I’ve experienced.
I also want to shout out to my family, especially those who prayed for me when I didn’t have the strength to pray for myself. Their unwavering love gave me room to grow, fall, and rise again.
To the strong women of faith who poured into me — whether in church pews, through late-night phone calls, or simply by living their truth — you helped shape the woman I’ve become. Your wisdom still echoes in my heart.
A special recognition goes to Sisterhood Through God’s Plan Ministries, Inc. — the organization God gave me, but also the one that has given so much back to me. Through it, I’ve seen women transformed, healed, and awakened to purpose. And that continues to fuel me.
Lastly, to every young girl or woman who has ever felt overlooked, broken, or unsure of her voice — this shoutout is for you. Your healing matters. Your story matters. And you’re not alone.
