We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Ingram and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandi, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor in the success of my business and brand I believe is being consistent. If I don’t provide what my customers are used to with the same high level of consistency they can easily go find someone else who will.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have always been somewhat of an entrepreneur from a young age. I would make anything and try to sell it like friendship bracelets, hair bows you name it. Later, when I was in college I was modeling and working a full time job along with full time college classes. I was always doing something and very busy. I had hoped this would ensure success for my future! I later worked for a local Childrens hospital for 8 years and then decided to stay home with my 3 boys. These days as a mother at home, I still feel the need to be doing my own thing and working in some way so I could be around people and still be with my kids. My entrepreneurial ways have reappeared and I found myself starting my own fragrance business. I am an independent consultant for Scentsy. I am also am a paid influencer on social media as a second part time job. To get where I am today I learn as much as I can about things I like and then I share them with other people. It’s really fun to me actually and that’s what I do for both my fragrance business and my social media business. It just seems natural for me to share things with others because I want to help them so it’s not hard for me to do my work when I enjoy it so much. Some of my challenges are family work balance. I have a hard time finding the time to do the things I need to do but I am very lucky to have an understanding and loving husband who helps me so much in all aspects of life and is very supportive. We work together in all things. It has not been easy to get to where I am today. It takes hard work to get things you want but I think it is worth it. Lessons I have learned along the way are that if you don’t try to stand out and provide excellence, no one will remember you as excellent. I want people to remember my customer service and my ability to provide a service to be excellent. I try to balance my time and life so that I can continue to be remembered in that way for each interaction. If I don’t feel like I’m providing that type of service I try to slow things down in my business so I can be better for my customers.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite places to go in our area are 1. Downtown Mckinney they have so many good places to eat like Harvest, Room One Eleven for drinks, the shopping downtown is awesome.
2. The Allen outlet mall is always fun
3. Gloria’s in fairview has the best chicken soup I’ve ever had in my life.
4. Watters Creek area in Allen also has a lot of great shopping and places to eat. We go there quite often.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have learned so much from reading books like “One Million Followers”, “Be a Recruiting Superstar” & “Atomic Habits” to name a few. I definitely would not be where I am today with my Sales business if it were not for Aspen Calhoun. She has helped me for many years when I was not even on her team just out of the kindness of her heart. We met by accident and she just took me under her wing. I finally started making progress with her help. I also watch a lot of YouTube videos to get ideas and help with my brand and image for social media.
