We had the good fortune of connecting with Bora Laci and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bora, what principle do you value most?
Values that matter to me most are loyalty, kindness, and authenticity. It is so important to remember who you are and your worth. Social media platforms are a way to express who you are and share with your others your passion and interests. I want people who follow me to know that they do not need to give into social pressures of what they need to look like and that it is more than okay to be different and have different preferences than what society is telling them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I work at an academic Research center that focuses on Public Policy Issues. I love what I do because I get to interact with individuals from all scopes of life and careers. I get to travel and partner with different organizations domestically and internationally. I am also part of a start-up that focuses on Social Impact for entrepreneurs. I love how different both these career paths are but both have one thing in common, which is the importance of community and how the community can make a difference. I got to where I am today with hard work, resilience, and determination. Every since I was a kid, I was a go-getter and would want to do multiple things at once which has been useful as I got older. I never had just one area of interest in mind, but I am always learning and looking for ways to diversify my background. One of the biggest lessons I have learned along the way is to always keep going no matter how hard, how difficult, how far it may seem. We each have to choose our hard, and that choice is up to you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh. this is so hard, but the first thing I would do is take them to White Rock Lake, I love walking there around 7 am in the morning when the sun is rising. After that, I would take them to La La Land cafe for some delicious coffee, my favorite is the perfect matcha latte. Lunch will be at Mercat bistro, I love the eggs benedict plus the assortment of fresh baked goods you can get. I would definitely show them around Klyde Warren Park and visit the DMA and Nasher Sculpture Center to see remarkable pieces by world-famous artists, such as Picasso and Edward Hopper. I would also take them for authentic Texas barbeque at Ferris Wheeler backyard & BBQ. We would need the evening at Deep Ellum for Dinner and a mural photoshoot.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Both my parents deserve every dedication in my life. Without them and their sacrifices I would not be the person I am today.
