We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobby Voss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bobby, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In the early 2000’s, I started us using an old video camera that I shoot video with of friends and family.. it was in horrible quality but it did its job. It wasn’t until 2018 that I had an interest in filming and attempting to create a business. I filmed a few wedding for free and/or very cheap and the response was great! I purchased a few courses to gain inspiration on story telling and joined Facebook groups to collaborate and connect with others in the industry. I never anticipated that this would evolve and I’m not only involved in videography, but aerial and real estate photography as well here in East Texas.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I faced several challenges, investing in equipment, software and endless amounts of hours of educating myself, learning, practicing and developing my own flow from a creative perspective. The hardest part is starting, you have to start…you can make any and all kinds of excuses not to chase a dream or passion, but that fear can cripple your ability to be the best version that world is waiting for. We all fall into that trap of self doubt, and internally create our own insecurities, but you have to tell and remind yourself .. I can and I will. You take baby steps, you’ll make errors and mistakes, excellent… this is how you learn. Just don’t stop, keep pushing and keep moving forward in your craft and use these challenges as opportunities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Longview TX is great place, there’s activities, endless amounts of restaurants and tons of outdoor activities. I probably would take a trip to DFW to seek out cool spots with great vibes to catch up and maybe to play Top Golf or visit downtown and try new restaurants and hangout.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank the community of Longview Texas and surrounding areas! The word of mouth, marketing and kindness that I’ve received has been overwhelming. I am grateful and humbled by the support I’ve received and thankful to the clients that have trusted me to create videos that I’m passionate about.
