We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobby Coston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bobby, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I think the biggest habit that has influenced my success is spending a lot of time on YouTube. It might seem like a bad thing upfront but, I’ve learned a lifetime of skills toward my career from the site. It’s taught me how to edit at a professional level, how to use and understand high-level film equipment, and even how to hone my emotions when in front of the camera. I’ve learned more than I could ever accredit to a university or secondary school. When you have FREE knowledge at your fingertips, you’re crazy not to dabble in something, It can also be a very useful marketing tool. Use it to show your skills and it could easily open tons of doors for you in whatever field you desire to enter. I use it to further myself in my career in more ways than one. It can be a bad habit though, so be careful!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an actor who uses his downtime (not on set) to create films of multiple genres. I really like to limit myself as an actor because it’s so rewarding giving a believable and immersive performance. I would be lying to not credit my films, as they have done so well in so many settings. It makes me proud to make an imprint in the film world which I admire so much. I wouldn’t say it was easy to get here, but it wasn’t extremely trying either. It mainly just took time. When people watch my work, acting, or filmmaking I hope they realize that it took time to get here, I feel like every day since I started in 2015 I’ve put some sort of effort toward where I am now and I will continue to keep that same energy.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am in no way a night owl, but probably to my boys (@Just_Tino) backyard gym, he built from the ground up! If we were heading to the city we’d probably grab some “Glazed” donuts in Deep Ellum. Probably grab some good healthy food at “V Eats” probably the best vegan food in Dallas. In my opinion. We might also go see @Vrywvy DJ, cause she’s a legend with the sounds. Other than that we’d be working on a film!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without the support, and the unwavering help of Monica Ramirez (@mission.monica) it’s hard to say if I would have made it this far. She is a great entrepreneur, extremely smart, and resourceful. More people should hear her story, because it’s very inspiring start to finish.
