We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Sudderth III and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was to build on my current sports podcast station by taking it to the next level. I wanted a station that provides listeners and viewers quality content from A to Z. My wife Erica was my biggest inspiration in starting BS3 Radio, which evolved into BS3 Network. I have desired to start my own business for years. I didn’t take the next step until the pandemic. The year 2020 and my wife helped to push the business idea to fruition.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career started by being a guest on my friend Eric’s podcast. I fell in love with podcasting after that. What sets me apart is longevity and commitment. Nothing is easy, but with time and dedication, you will be successful. Every year my business has grown. I am most excited about the future of BS3 Network; there is no limit. I am most proud of the people I work with on the Network. They’re the most creative people I know. BS3 Network is a family. A black-owned independent broadcast station that’s Changing the way you watch tv and listen to podcasts!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
On day 1, I would take him to Nina’s Brunch, located in Forney, for breakfast. Then, we would go to the Fort Worth Stockyards, followed by Cane Russo, for some delicious pizza. After that, go to the Fort Worth Zoo. Then for a nightcap, dinner at French Quarter Bistro, Forney. Day 2, get donuts at Hurts Donuts in Frisco. Then, visit The Star in Frisco to visit the Dallas Cowboys facility. For lunch, a burger from Kenny’s Burger Joint, Frisco. Then visit the Dallas Arboretum to see beautiful flowers. End of Day 2, dinner at Smokey John’s BBQ in Dallas. Day 3, spend all day at the State Fair of Texas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I want to give a shoutout to my lord and savior, Jesus Christ. For giving me the desire, passion, discernment, and tools to form BS3 Network. Second, my wife Erica for pushing and encouraging me through this journey. Third, my parents for supporting me. Fourth, BIG SHOUTOUT to everyone on BS3 Network!!
