We had the good fortune of connecting with ASMA SYED and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ASMA, how do you define success?
Reflecting on this popular quote from George sheehan ” Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be” My personal definition of success as an artist is making an impact on others through what I’m doing (be it work or hobby-related). I know the things I’m trying to achieve are for myself that’s courage, but it feels a lot more better when you’re also making a difference for other people in the process that’s determination. My very favorite thing about my job is hearing directly from my client how the designs I created for them make them feel absolutely beautiful. I really feel happy that I am making the impact by celebrating and supporting women.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey has been forever changing and if I have learned anything along the way.. it is to cut out the negativity in your life and change your mindset on how you should be living. When you learn to replace the negative and dream really big your mindset changes and takes you to places who never thought oh you would go! It was not easy to get where I am today professionally as every small business owner faces continuous challenges along the way but I overcame that with the optimistic and hardworking mind. Another thing I have learned is the ability to prioritize the important things in your life and execute it well. I want the world to know that I am selling happiness through my art knowing that i can use my art to bring peace, connections, joy , ease to my clients. Iam confident in my ability as a henna artist to create eye-catching designs for my clients . I am most proud of the connections I made over henna which extended far beyond the service itself! Connections like this affirm me that this work is much much more than henna and I am occupying the place in the world that I was uniquely created to fill wallahi (Arabic word for To promise that something is true can be added in the brackets instead of credibility.)

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have mentioned the places I loved here in Dallas there is So much to do, so much to see. The best places to visit in Dallas and its surrounding cities deliver everything from high-brow culture to Old West heritage.. 1) Dallas World Aquarium 2) Fair Park – Sept through late October 3) Fort Worth Water Gardens – urban oasis 4) Six Flags Over Texas – amusement 5) San Antonio – Riverwalk 6) Reunion Tower – Resembling a 561-foot-tall microphone, the tower is notable for its observation deck offering 360-degree panoramic views of the metropolis below.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Syed. He is the one who supports me and my dreams. Syed is one of the hardest working people I have ever met in my life. He is excellent friend to others and a wonderful spouse to me.
