Meet Ashley Pena | Aesthetician & Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Pena and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want to be remembered as someone others looked up to for knowledge about their skin, not only by telling them what they should do but by educating them so they know how and why. Every single client experience is unique, so I always try to make the experience unlike a typical spa.

I am devoted to continuing my education to learn as much as I can so I can treat my clients in the best way. It makes me incredibly happy to hear how my clients try to teach their family and friends small tips they have learned from me. It tells me that not only do they fully trust me, but they also understand what they’re doing and why.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ashley Pena Aesthetics is about helping others evolve in their skin journey. I offer a variety of services to accomplish everyone’s goals. I provide services for anyone dealing with challenging skin and people who want to enhance their look and care for their skin better.

I offer treatments for acne, pigmentation, acne scars, dark spots, signs of aging, and sensitized skin such as rosacea and eczema.

I am a business owner, Licensed Aesthetician, Certified Practitioner, Botox Injector, and Holistic Skincare Nutritionist. I also have a background in medical aesthetics and experience in a relaxing spa, which means you can expect to relax, rewind, and achieve incredible results with your skin.

I’m continuously looking for new and advanced innovations in skincare and taking educational classes because I want to give my clients the best care.

Some certifications and training I am proud to have, in addition to my professional license, are Certified Acne Expert, Speed Waxing Training, Skin of Color Training, and more.

Everyone’s skin is unique, and I take pride in being able to treat all types of skin and help them reach their goals. I started as an employee of an award-winning spa, which gave me a lot of experience and learning opportunities. I soon discovered I wanted to go towards a more clinical approach to treating skin, so I worked for a well-known dermatologist. These job opportunities helped me gain the knowledge I have now to treat all types of skin, even the most challenging and sensitive skin types.

I have a passion for helping educate others on the importance of skin health and to reach their ultimate skin goals.

When you come in as a new client, you can expect me to listen to your skin concerns with complementary water, wine, or champagne, and then I’ll devise a specific treatment plan to reach your goals. Every skin is unique, and we will go into detail about what exactly it is you will need to accomplish your goals by customizing your treatment sessions, your homecare routine, and even diet and lifestyle tips.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you want to visit a place to treat yourself, you must visit Ashley Pena Aesthetics!

I don’t have any other specific recommendations to visit because I don’t get out much. All my time and energy goes towards my business and my family. I am just a natural homebody, but when I do get with a friend, we usually get some food, or we meet up at work or home. I’m still learning what’s around Mansfield because I’m not local and live more out in the country, so I usually meet with friends all over DFW, and they’re the ones showing me new places.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout-out to my family. They have been incredibly supportive of my entire journey, especially my mom, who I bother and call way too much for advice.

I would also like to take some time to appreciate my boyfriend and the father of my two kids. He is the one who really pushed me to start my business and believed in me from the very beginning. Without his support, I would not be where I am today!

I would also be nothing without my current clients. Their continued business, reviews, and referrals I get from them is the biggest compliment I could receive and what keeps me going.

There are also two entrepreneurs I’d like to shout out to. First will be Erika Sanchez, aesthetician and owner of Skin by Costa Rica in Bishop Arts District. I admire her drive for her business, and I am incredibly proud of what she has accomplished since her first day. She is one of the only other beauty professionals I will always recommend. You can always expect to see us two collaborating in special events together. I love how she always has the best interest of others, is supportive, incredibly smart and is a great person to be around!

And second, Omar Francia. He is an incredible photographer, and what I love the most is his attention to detail. I love him as a photographer because he makes me feel comfortable and helps with my vision of what I want to capture. Omar is very talented, and you can tell he has a passion for his work. He will always be my official photographer for personal, and business.
