We had the good fortune of connecting with AREN Bahia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi AREN, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking was a huge part of my life, going from being a drug dealer and literally risking my life and freedom to leaving everything behind and selling everything I own, leaving the game, and moving to Bali to start my life over.
Once I was aligned spiritually, I continued to take risks in launching businesses and learned that taking risks on myself was the right call. I couldn’t control the crypto market, or stocks, or anything other than my ability to hustle.
This is both scary but also freeing, we are able to do SO much when we put ourselves in a position where we MUST succeed. Never settle for mediocrity, instead put your back up against the wall and come out swinging, the results for me at least, were always better.
I’ve launched 8 businesses in 8 years due to being able to take risks on myself and my own work ethic, and yes, the first ones were scary! But, once we get used to taking little risks on ourselves, we can the build that muscle to take bigger risks.
My game plan for risk taking:
1. Identify what you want, and if you REALLY want it enough to push through all the resistance.
2. Create a solid plan that you can’t deviate from
3. Ask people smarter than you who’ve already done what you want to do for advice
4. Start on your plan, and go all in on it.
Good luck fellow risk takers.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am an entrepreneur, speaker, and coach.
I started with tattoo shops in Bali, then an online personal development brand, content creation studio, and then business and life coaching.
I love being able to help people change their mindset, take action, and be happy and balanced while they achieve their goals. Coaching is an extremely fulfilling career and I only got to where I’m at today by learning from the school of hard knocks. I’ve had extreme challenges like leaving organized crime, moving to a different continent and learning a foreign language, I’ve been stabbed in robbery attempts, nearly died in motorcycle accidents, learned how to walk again, and kept launching businesses through the worst of it.
Without my self practice, and the purpose of serving and growing, I don’t know where’ I’d be.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d start with a hike in a beautiful space and and do some breathwork and meditation, next we’d take a super car up a beautiful highway to have a big epic steak. We’d a creative session and have long deep talks about the universe.
The things needed to fill my cup are good laughs, deep talks, getting physical in nature, working on wealth, and damn good food!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to send some love and recognition to two books.
1. Turning Pro – Steven Pressfield
2. Syncrodestiny – Deepak Chopra
Absolute gold in getting shit done, and making sense of the universe’s plan.
