We had the good fortune of connecting with Antiniece Norwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Antiniece, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I grew up in poverty and always knew I wanted to have a better life. Once I became a mom, it drove me to start my own businesses with the determination of my daughter not having to experience the things I have. My ultimate goal is leave her with something of significance, wealth, and power once I’m gone!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a nail tech, it gives me creative freedom! Freedom to express myself in a nonverbal manner. It also gives me great joy to provide a service to individuals (mainly women) and make them feel good about themselves! It’s also sparked me and my daughter’s desire to start a clothing boutique for the same reasons! Being an entrepreneur and CEO, isn’t easy! It’s takes time, effort, dedication, consistency, and A LOT of patience! I take time and put together a “to do” list to make things easier. I’m most proud of taking the initiative to set this example for my daughter and those who are unknowingly watching me for motivation! I know that no matter what happens, I can proudly say that “I DID IT!”
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I don’t get out much in my current city. Me and my best friend are what we call “old ladies!” lol but- I’d find the most renown vegan restaurant (my best friend is vegan) to take her to and probably go to a local casino for some live music.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom, my daughter , my husband, my grandparents, my best friend and a dear friend!
