We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Parke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

Trilogy is the brainchild of three sisters: Joi, an exceptional tattoo artist; Kiki, a seasoned piercer; and Anna, the entrepreneurial spirit and business manager. Our shared vision led us to establish our own tattoo shop, where we could leverage our individual strengths to foster a creative and safe work environment. Our goal is not only to create a space that resonates with our passions but also to provide a welcoming haven for women and members of the LGBTQ+ community in our local area.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As previously mentioned, Trilogy is committed to providing a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community, a standard not always found in traditional tattoo shops. Many members of our staff identify with the community, and we aspire to embody the safe space we envision for the world.

Our artists showcase remarkable talent and steadfast commitment to their craft, each propelled by distinctive individuality and deep passion. Beyond contributing their skills, they infuse their work with a profound sense of compassion and understanding for the diverse individuals who visit our studio every day.

Through the experience of opening the shop, we’ve learned communication is key, and knowing when to hold your tongue is equally important. Operating a family business presents its own set of challenges, but we have established clear boundaries that prioritize the business aspect. Above all, we want the world to understand that Trilogy is a sanctuary – a place where both in front and behind the scenes, the owners are dedicated to ensuring your safety and well-being.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you and a friend are going to spend a week in Denton, Texas, here’s what you should do. Start your first day off with a classic Texas breakfast at Loco Cafe, then wander around the cool shops and art galleries in the historic Downtown Square. Day two, immerse yourself in Denton’s artsy side at the Denton Arts District and grab a bite at Rusty Taco. Day three is all about music – hit up the Texas Musicians Museum and catch a show at Dan’s Silverleaf. Day four, get outdoorsy at Ray Roberts Lake State Park, followed by delicious BBQ at Juicy Pig. Day five, dive into local eats and drinks with a trip to Denton’s Community Market and some local breweries. For a mellow day six, chill at Jupiter House Coffee and check out the local thrift shops. Cap it all off with a goodbye brunch at Seven Mile Cafe on the last day. Enjoy a mix of tasty eats, artsy vibes, and Denton’s laid-back charm!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, our heartfelt gratitude goes to our Mom, our ultimate number one supporter and unwavering cheerleader. Trilogy, the shop, and the sisterhood wouldn’t be possible without her steadfast encouragement. She’s a driving force behind our audacious dreams, and we owe so much to her.

A special shoutout goes to our kids, as they inspire and fuel our determination for more in this life. Their presence is a constant reminder of the significance of our journey.

Lastly, we want to express sincere appreciation to the incredible community of clients at Trilogy. Your positive attitudes and infectious smiles make our work truly meaningful. It’s your consistent support that reaffirms the purpose behind everything we do. Thank you for being an integral part of our story.
