Meet Angel King | Make up and Hair artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel King and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I would say my thought process was it was a call! I’m of faith I’m a Christian and beauty is something that the Lord called me to. I always had a passion for make up and wanted to start a make up company but I never started it. After submitting my life to the Lord after He came and got me at one of the worst times of my life. He ended up calling me to make up and hair. I believe He was calling me to do the service and that’s when I started working toward a beauty bar! Today my mind is I want to provide a good service and grow letting the Lord be the foundation. And be a blessing to others.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love this! To me make up and hair is art! What I love about its no right or wrong way to do it. It’s like a sculptor it’s whatever in the sculptor’s mind! The make up I do the best in is glam. I try different hair and make up looks, different trends and different things so I’m able to do what the client would want. And I also do styles and looks I come up with in my mind and make it come to life. Today I’m still growing I’m definitely not where I want to be I learned a lot, more wisdom. Life things, maturing, learning different things in growing a business. But what keeps me going and not giving up is the word the Lord spoke. Knowing that He called me to this. Even when it looks like it’s not going to produce I know! What I want the world to know is. I want add onto the light in the beauty industry. Provide a good service, give back and be a blessing to others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m new to Dallas I moved here back in November 2024. I have really gone chance to really get in Dallas. But I would say downtown it gives California vibes to me which is great it’s like a piece of home!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Glory to God! I went through so much and I know it was nothing but the Lord. And I’m thankful to the people the Lord has had help me on this journey. From my spiritual leaders, shelters, to people that helped me when I was in street. I’m thankful to every person that has helped. And thankful to God!
