We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angel, how do you think about risk?
Definition of risk-taking. : the act or fact of doing something that involves danger or risk in order to achieve a goal. Starting a business always involves some risk-taking. When you look at the definition of risk-taking its quite simple to understand that in any business there will always be “risk”. With that being said it is clear to understand that in order to be a successful entrepreneur you must be ready to take the challenge of risk-taking, if you aren’t ready for that challenge then you aren’t ready to become a business owner. Taking risks however, doesn’t mean going into business “blindly” not knowing your market or not having a plan expecting your business to grow on its own. One takes a risk when there is an opportunity and a written plan on how to execute. I personally love risk-taking as it challenges me to think outside the box and step out of my comfort zone which allows me to grow as a entrepreneur and as a person. When I started my career I studied, learned my market, observed others, asked questions to those who had a business and learned as quickly as possible. I quickly discovered that it would not be easy but I was ready for whatever and the passion I had drove me to take risks and never look back. Everybody wants success, everybody says they are “ready” to become an entrepreneur but very few are ready to take a risk. 2020 has been a rough year for everybody: employers, employees, small businesses, you name it. The reason I bring this up is because despite these challenges a big opportunity arose that I would like to share with you all. I am currently a personal trainer and CEO of Alphastetics Gym (which was forced to shut down for 2 months due to the quarantine lock down). Can you imagine being a small business owner and being shut down for 2 months, scary right? Not for me, I took the quarantine as time to focus on how to improve my current business and start something new. I received a blessing and opportunity to start a new business and I jumped quick. You see, I knew there was several risks from my current business being shut down for 2 months, economy being down at its lowest, to fear of entering a new market and so much more! However, I took the risk to start something new and I will soon be launching my 2nd business. Nothing in this life is easy, whats life without a risk? If you want something you must be dedicated and ready to take on the challenges and obstacles that will be brought upon the journey. Never settle for less, if there’s a will there’s a way and always remember as Denzel Washington says, “Dreams without goals are just dreams”
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Alphastetics Gym is a private training facility that focuses solely on client transformation. Our goal is to help change the lives of our clients from health, physical appearances, mentally, and spiritually. We strive to help others reach goals and overall to live a healthy happy life. I am proud of every client that has joined and became part of the Alphastetics team for all the changes, efforts and sacrifices they commit in order to have a healthy transformation. It is never easy to make a change but I am proud to say that every client we have worked with has had a healthy transformation and a story to tell of their own. Business wise I have got to where I am thanks to everyone who has had hope in me and thanks to those who have put the trust in me to help change their lives through my coaching programs. My goal was always to help others, in high school I always dreamed of being in a position to make a positive impact to those around me and had hopes of becoming a personal trainer and dreams to potentially open my own gym to create a business where I could make a movement that stands for something. I would like to share with the world that nothing is easy, life is full of ups and downs and we must learn to adapt and continue to move forward. The journey is never easy but the finish line is worth every single struggle and I encourage all my readers to continue to push forward and never look back again.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend without a doubt is my wife as she is someone I can truly trust and always count on no matter what. With that being said, after a long work week, which we have every week at the gym (working 13+ hours everyday) I would say our favorite thing to do is relax and enjoy the nature. Perhaps a nice walk around the city, a boat ride, a day at the spa, anything that allows us to spend time and completely relax. A few favorite restaurants of ours would be *Cris and John *Meso Maya *Texas De Brazil *Mi Cocina I personally enjoy a night out at dinner, attending Sunday Worship, and blocking out everything to dedicate personal time to my wife.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have been blessed by the people in my group and I couldn’t be more thankful to all my friends and family. I would be nowhere near where I am today if it wasn’t for the people that have stood by my side encouraging me, supporting me, and having faith in me. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” I am thankful to God for allowing me to be surrounded by friends and family who truly believe in me, I am thankful to my wife Elvia for never leaving my side and being with me through the ups and downs. And last but not least I am thankful to all my Alphastetics family, if your reading this you know who you are. My Alphastetics family is the most loyal and faithful group anyone could have and I am blessed to have such a strong supportive team by my side.
