We had the good fortune of connecting with Anastasia Strattan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anastasia, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
I would say the single most important decision I made that continues to contribute to my success today was to trust in continuing my education. I strive to go to or subscribe to classes to this day in order to remain aware and relevant to today’s needs in my industry. With and ever changing and evolving beauty industry, I choose to accept the challenge and pivot right along with it!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I got where I am today through many connections to wonderful people willing to take a chance on me. I also got here by my work ethic, constant drive and team member oriented way of thinking. It was not easy getting here but the journey has definitely been worth it. Starting my own business came with plenty of bumps and bruises, hard lessons learned and mistakes made. I hope to be able to teach others from those lessons and help the future generations of inspired people grow and fulfill their dreams. Overcoming the challenges of life is a continued effort. I feel that I must continue to learn and seek help outside myself in order to grow and evolve in both business and personal life. I have learned to trust my gut instincts, and sometimes get second opinions on those feelings, surround myself with like minded individuals, both personally and in business and to take time for myself. In order to watch a garden grow, one must water it, tend to it and give it the time and space it needs to thrive. This is how I treat my business. I would most want people to know that I think of things from an eduction standpoint- what can be learned from our experiences, our failures and our triumphs? How can we use these to grow into the best versions of ourselves? How can I teach others and be of service in my industry? If I am answering those questions and seeing light bulbs go off for those around me, I feel I am fulfilling my purpose.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate this shoutout to my dear friend and colleague, Laci Coker. She is a respected business owner, true leader by example, and fantastic friend! I am so excited to work with her and feel that the possibilities are endless with her by my side! Another girlfriend and boss babe of mine is Rayven Walker of Beauty and the Blush. She is a true success of a business owner and mom of 4 sweet heart children. She makes it all look effortlessly easy and remains a force to be reckoned with in the industry!
