We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Dix and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I believe that investing in myself every year has led to progress and success year over year. The first year I invested over a 5-figure amount in my growth, I saw exponential gains. That year was an investment with my Publisher to write a book.

So, I decided every year after that I would invest in a program or coaching that would continue to take me to a different level than where I was currently.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
If you read my response above about what contributed to my success, you will know that my first big investment in myself was for my first book. That single decision has shaped my entrepreneurial path and I have continued to say YES to ideas and opportunities place in front of me.

Both of my books have helped shaped my speaking career. Prior to being an author, I lacked the confidence to make speaking a career. After writing a book, I leveraged it to get many speaking engagements and with the release of my 2nd book, I moved into a full-time speaker!

The success I had on stage led my start Authority Speakers Agency, where we book emerging speakers on stages so that they can gain the momentum they need to create the movement they were meant for.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, our first stop would be the beach! I love living at the beach! I also love making memories – I think it’s what makes life rich and fulfilling. So, I would also drive north to rent a cabin in the mountains, disconnect from technology, and just enjoy the moments and memories built!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When it comes to my business success, I believe that my dad has given me an unfair advantage through his business acumen and support through my entrepreneur journey. I also dedicate my success to my publisher and business partner, Rob. Without him seeing potential in me and recognizing a big idea, we wouldn’t be making the impact we get to make every day.
