We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Clancy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, how do you define success?
I must be completely transparent, I wasn’t as disciplined starting out. I had to first focus on the areas I needed improvement as well as highlighting my strengths. That’s simply allowing myself to make mistakes and not being afraid of failure or most importantly learning how to accept feedback. Having the ability to acknowledge your own shortcomings builds character, self-confidence, and respect. The misconception of becoming an entrepreneur is instant gratification, but anything worth having takes time to grow and there will be some rough patches. But having perseverance is what keeps me on the right path of success, and celebrating small achievements along the way.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Discovering new innovative ways to stand out in the food industry has kept me busy, but maintaining work/life balance is equally as important. Catering is an art and the best way to remain relevant is to stretch myself beyond my comfort zone such as; networking, enhancing the aesthetics of my grazing boards, and setting monthly goals to achieve. I also have a couple business ventures I plan on launching in the near future, so stay tuned!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have a strong supporting cast of family and friends. Most of all I dedicate my shoutout to my mom, Janice Evans for staying in my corner.
