Hi Alyssa, what makes you happy? Why?
As a hairstylist my happiness is primarily derived from the satisfaction and joy of my clients. Seeing the smiles on their faces, witnessing their increased confidence, and hearing their positive feedback after a successful hair transformation brings me immense happiness. Additionally, building strong and lasting connections with my clients is very important to my job satisfaction. Building trust and establishing a rapport with them allows for open communication, ensuring that I can fulfill their desired hairstyle needs effectively. Also, staying updated with the latest trends, techniques, and continuously evolving my skills keeps me motivated and excited about my work.

What should our readers know about your business?
During the start of the pandemic, I made a decision to divert my attention and go head on into a lifelong passion of mine – hair. It was a fortunate moment when I stumbled upon a Instagram sensation who offered to teach her unique techniques, and without hesitation, I seized the opportunity. While I had no prior experience in hairstyling, I believed it would be beneficial to acquire the skill even if it was for personal use.

Intrigued by the niche market in San Antonio, I discovered that no one was specializing in faux locs. It was then that I grasped this chance to delve into a realm of learning through trial and error, as well as attending additional classes. Eager to showcase my newfound knowledge, I began advertising my services, and soon enough, clients started reserving appointments. Reflecting on the journey, it is truly astounding to witness the remarkable progress I have made in just three short years.

I must admit, being an entrepreneur is both a challenging and a gratifying endeavor. Building a clientele and promoting my business proved to be the most challenging aspects, but by consistently delivering exceptional customer service, I have managed to retain a strong base of satisfied clients. Although there were occasional difficulties with certain individuals, the positive experiences far outweighed any setbacks encountered along the way.

There were numerous instances when self-doubt crept in, tempting me to abandon my aspirations. However, the unwavering support from my family and the encouragement of my loyal clientele have acted as powerful motivators, compelling me to become the person I am today and foster the success I have achieved.

One of the most profound lessons I learned was that saying “no” does not make me a lesser person. Prioritizing customer satisfaction is crucial, but there are occasions where it simply isn’t feasible to fulfill certain requests. It took time, but I have grown to confidently decline such demands while standing firm in my decision.

Remember, all you need is within you. If your heart yearns for something, take that leap of faith and pursue it. Even if you do not attain immediate success, the satisfaction of knowing you tried is invaluable. That was my mindset from the beginning, and as I witnessed the progress unfold, I became fully committed to the art of hairstyling, never contemplating a return to my previous life. Formerly unimaginable, I now find myself living out my wildest dreams. If you identify a need in the market, devote yourself to understanding not only that necessity but also the potential clients.

Immerse yourself in knowledge, and with dedicated effort, take that bold step forward. I did precisely that, and today I can proudly proclaim that I am the embodiment of my own success story.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As I have recently moved to Allen, TX, I have been exploring different places and immersing myself in the local culture. Although I haven’t had the chance to visit too many places yet, I am eager to revisit the ones I have experienced and discover more hidden gems. As a self-professed movie buff, a visit to Cinemark Legacy is an absolute must for me. The immersive movie-watching experience there is unparalleled. Additionally, I love exploring vibrant areas such as West Legacy and The Colony where I can stroll around, browse unique shops, and soak in the lively atmosphere.

In my quest for self-care and relaxation, I recently stumbled upon Rocky Creek Candle Company. Their unique concept of creating personalized candles or body scents perfectly aligns with my personal interests. It would be an ideal activity to indulge in with them, who shares the same passion for self-care.

To add some excitement and friendly competition to our day, we could head over to Top Golf. It would be a fantastic opportunity to connect on a more casual level while enjoying some drinks and engaging in playful rounds of golf.

Exploring the culinary scene is one of my favorite pastimes, and I make it a point to try new places every couple of weeks. So far, my favorite spots include Honey Berry, Stirr, Mi Cocina, and, of course, Cris and John. Each restaurant offers its own unique flavors and ambiance, providing a delightful variety to satisfy any craving.

Overall, I am thrilled to have relocated to the Allen area, as it provides countless opportunities for entertainment, self-care, and culinary adventures. I believe these experiences not only allow me to unwind and explore, but also contribute to my personal growth and ability to appreciate the vibrant community I now call home.

Absolutely! My sister has been an incredible source of inspiration and support in my life. She is an exceptional individual who consistently displays unwavering resilience and determination. I’m grateful to have her as my sister and consider her a true role model.
