We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Owens and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I believe the most important thing has been being present and making time for just me and my son. I also take his education very seriously so I’ve made sure that wherever I’m sending him will be in the best interest of his development.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of Laid by Lexii, LLC. My business specializes in natural hair care and promotes healthy hair growth through protective styles and intensive scalp treatments. I pride myself on being a “one-stop shop” which means that my services are very diverse and I don’t just specialize in any one particular thing. I’m also very personable and I love building great client-stylist relationships. I get to know my clients individual and I make sure that I make myself available to them whenever they need advice or have questions regarding their hair needs.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many fun spots throughout Dallas but I absolutely love going to dinner at Pangea Restaurant & Bar, or having brunch at Lolos Chicken & Waffles! I typically take my friends to Trinity Groves so we can walk around and enjoy the great views of the city over the local food trucks.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my son Jaxon, as well as my parents Dewanda and Roosevelt Owens.
