We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Davenport and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In 2020 after the midst of covid, and having a new baby girl, I really longed to have something for me. I have always been creative minded, and loved hosting and entertaining– so the thought to create what soon became, Bohemian Boards, arose! I carefully mapped out my business plan and decided to throw it online one day– within a month a hobby, that turned into a full-blown career came to life. I was actually the first charcuterie business in our county, so people really loved the idea, the support was incredible! It was then, and still is now the best job ever!!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Art has kind of always been my thing, my talent. When I was younger, my art was more focused on drawings, paintings, etc. As I grew into my adulthood, I learned that art can be in any form, truly, and quickly found my love for “Food Art”. I do pride myself on being a major foodie, so the idea of pairing various flavors and textures of foods, plus make it visually beautiful was my jam! Of course, over the past 3+ years my styling has changed and improved, but that just comes with years of learning, practicing and mastering, like any skill! It just always starts when you have an eye for creativity and flavor! I would say I have learned many lessons. Like all things in life, and times you will make mistakes, but it’s how we grow and learn from them. In the “food art” world, you will learn things that don’t work, and things that work really well, but when you find your niche, you’ve got it! I have found my niche, and I love making charcuterie dreams come true with it!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many I have to applaud for sticking out this journey of entrepreneurship with me for the past 3 years! My amazing husband Blake for putting up with lots of late night and early morning prep and work time with me, my family for always supporting, loving me and encouraging me to be my best, my friends for continuous support, sharing, and love, my incredible clientele that just keeps growing and growing, and most importantly Christ for leading me here. Without God’s guidance and unwavering love in my life, I would have never made it here– and for that I am so so thankful and blessed.
