We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Snyder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I starting practicing flow arts back in 2019 and quickly fell in love. I would practice for hours a day and was dedicated to honing in my skill. Later I was introduced to the “DFW Flowmie” community and made a ton of new friends. During the pandemic many friends were out of jobs so we met up regularly to practice together and came up with the idea of starting a fire troupe. So as a community we raised money to start an LLC and get things started. As RadiantSolz began to grow and expand we shifted the focus from being a fire troupe to a full entertainment company. We now offer anything and everything from Aerialist, Contortionist, Stiltwalkers, Fire Performers, LED Performers, Psychics, Clowns, Sideshow Acts, and so much more – as well as collaborate with others like Daisys OneWorld to provide dancers and other acts.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
RadiantSolz has evolved into what is now a fusion of a talent agency, event production, education, and more! We provide a variety of circus-style entertainment options, specializing in Flow Arts, Stiltwalking, Aerial Arts and more.

Flow Arts is the practice of manipulating props in illusionary ways usually in the form of dance to the rthym of music. Props consist of but are not limited to hula hoop, juggling, poi, staff, leviwand, buugeng, etc.
Many of these styles originate from martial arts and cultural dances that evolved into this beautifully unique art form over time.

As performing artist we believe in the power of movement, the mind-body connection. Many artists speak of the meditative properties of Flow Arts, or going into the “Flow State” where time seems to slow down and focus increases. Well it just so happens that flow arts has been proven to activate and develope the frontal cortex which is linked to problem solving. This is super important in both kids and adults. So we’ve started hosting Flow Camp at festivals and Flow Art Workshops locally where we allow anyone to come and learn any prop they want. We even started a school program where we perform for the students, introduce each prop and educate, then allow the kids to play with flow props.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Deep Ellum is a great place for local eats and drinks. Deep Ellum Art Company has an event called “Flowmoon” that is one of the biggest fire performances in North Texas. Green Elephant also has fire performers from time to time.

Rainbow Vomit is an immersive art installation at Fair Park that will certainly light up your imagination. This is a must see!

JackHouseDallas is the afterhours spot every Friday and Saturday. Another must see!

DFW Rave Fam is your local EDM community – they put of events at Haltom Theatre and Wiskey Gardens in Fort Worth, and they organize local festivals.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We could not have done this without the love and support of the DFW Flow Arts community as a whole. As well as Daisy Pardo of Daisy’s OneWorld and Dan Luna of Dragon’s Ball Society for mentoring us early on. Big shout out to Ignite Art Collective, DFW Rave Fam, and ACME Creation Lab as well.
