We had the good fortune of connecting with Aiasha Ellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aiasha, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The key habits I stand by are: support other small businesses, regular visits with the accountant, planning, and praying. Every month I select about five people I’ve met from the farmers market or out networking and purchase something I like. I believe to be abundant you must be abundant. So I must change my mindset to accept that. Those four habits, believe or not hurt me, because these were things in my personal life that weren’t being done. So creating these habits taught me discipline. It’s crazy how these habits taught me how to create more habits and boundaries.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I pride myself on running a low-profit salon. I believe it should not cost you half of a check to take care of yourself. Eazy Touches is exactly what it is, we just touch you up. Providing natural hair and skincare solutions by using natural products made by small businesses. I contract hairstylists, massage therapists, aestheticians, lash techs, nail techs, and an on-call therapist for busy days for all your self-care needs. My salon is private and personable for each client. I wanted to create a safe place for anyone who needed it. Everyone should be able to afford a facial, a deep tissue massage, or even a scalp treatment ( it’s my specialty). Some of the people who have sat in the chair, call it the hot seat because all eyes are on you. We cater to your needs while providing the care you need to have to give back to yourself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many options.
Well first let’s get into Lisa’s chicken and seafood. Ohh weee baby! That’s some good food. That’s just an honorable mention! And if you really interested, get the two piece fish filet, 4 butterfly shrimp and double those fries! Lawd ah mercy! Ok I’m done.
So there are so many great little hidden gems in Arlington. But Dallas has some gems too. Now here is how we would start,. It’s Vals cheesecake, Bae jar.. oh yum! Start with dessert first your stomach will thank you. After the fix has been fixed we head to Arlington, oh after The Cake bar in to get a good look at the skyline and eat the tastiest cake slice ever! Strawberry, you welcome.
Now, Arlington the good thing about “the entertainment district” it’s a stretch so you get to see a little of everything. Six flags, the Cowboy Stadium, Parks Mall, the daiquiri shops,Downtown Arlington, The Ranger Stadium, Texas Live, Arlington Heights, Trinity River, and the countless parks for fun and grilling. You get a little bit of everything.
In the midst of the fun, we all get hungry and oh what a selection they have in Arlington. You want fresh and hot seafood, try Flying Fish down off Abrams. Oh and right down the street there is Hershey’s place, a Chicago love story. Where wings and secret sauce meet. Oh goodness, all I’m going to say is get the wings extra wet! They don’t miss, the pizza and sandwiches are delicious too. Around the corner there is a arcade bar, to work off some that food. Then across town, we go down by the Parks mall and eat over at Jamaican Gates! I’m a Florida native and my family is from the Bahamas. And this places makes me feel like I’m right at home. I enjoy the Trio, Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken, and the Amazing oxtails, along with rice and cabbage. And if it’s Saturday I order extra dumplings! This place is a sweet favorite of mines. I’m a frequent customer I even have my favorite spot. And now after the food tour , we wind down by going to the library. I know I know , what ? But hear me out. On the top floor of the library there is a balcony , enjoy the view , sip a coffee. Although, going to Dallas and going to Deep Ellum catching a live band or dancing in the streets to a funky beat coming from a near by club. It’s definitely fun and worth the people to meet when you get there.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and best friend George have been a great support system when it come to chasing after your dreams. I also have my best friends and my amazing God son for being there even though we weren’t close to touch anymore. And the most important, the best for last, I have to give all the shout outs to Inspired to Live Church in Arlington, Tx. (check them out!) Pastor Adair is cold with the Bible and he teaches being a better you for God. Which applies to loving these people on this earth. This is why I chose to provide the services I do in the salon. The joy I’ve learned about serving others when it’s all for a greater cause. So I thank them all but nothing would be possible with God.
