We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Phillips and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The inspiration for my business came from my personal journey to overcome various physical, mental and emotional challenges after surviving domestic violence. As I found ways to heal myself, others began to express interest in the process. I realize that many people suffer in silence as I once had, and I find joy in helping them on their personal path to healing.
The name for the company was inspired while I was living in the city. My daughter and I were walking past a parking lot. I saw 3 little dandelion flowers growing from the concrete and just thought, “Wow. Even though they were being smothered, nothing was going to stop them from reaching for the light. Nothing was going to stop their growth.” That is the principle I take with every healing I do, every client I have, and every person I coach.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is multidimensional in that I am an energy healer that also provides emotional wellness coaching. What sets my business apart is that I have combined two industries that many would consider unrelated. I am most proud of my clients’ breakthroughs. Seeing their transformation is the most rewarding thing for me. The road to where I am was definitely not easy. Along the way. I experienced major setbacks, internal obstacles, and physical challenges. Fortunately, I have a nurturing family and found myself surrounded by healing mentors, uplifting yoga teachers, and eventually, business mentors that helped me see my path.
The most important lessons that I have learned along my journey, have been acknowledging my own resilience, strength and perseverance. Through my lived experiences, I realized that behind every story there is a purpose. Our pasts do not dictate our futures. Those are ours to create. My story led me to my purpose – helping people find the healing behind theirs.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, our itinerary would be filled with sunset grounding and long nature walks because the energy and views are phenomenal in every direction. We would also have to see a few of the many waterfalls and hang out with the locals during their drumming afternoons in the park.
Favorite Casual Restaurant in Mt. Shasta – Pipeline
Excellent craft beers, incredible food and super sweet and attentive staff.
Favorite Small Town Coffee Shop – Sojourn Cafe and Coffee Shop in McCloud – Fantastic Coffee and food selections with GF options and something for everyone. It’s connected to a quaint little sporting goods store for your nature walks or any other outdoor excursion.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is definitely to my good friend Yolanda Smith, the genius mind behind Branding 4 Success. Not only is she brilliant, but she is benevolent. Yolanda is always open and willing to share her experience and insights to help others build their brand. Although our industries are different, we share a passion for uplifting and empowering others.
