Do you have a budget?

We asked successful entrepreneurs and creatives to tell us about whether they have a budget and how they think about spending decisions and have shared some of their responses below.
I don’t in fact. I was raised by a dad who is as frugal as they come so saving money has never been very hard for me. Combining that with the fact that I’m very driven to succeed in my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to have never worried about paying rent and such. I was taught to live below my means and I religiously stick to that. I have a very loose budget when it comes to exploring my city for the best bites and interesting activities. Due to the constant growth we are seeing in the Metroplex there are more and more businesses and events popping up almost daily so you have to be open to exploring at any giving time to capture amazing content. With my 9-5 being a remote job I am able to cut cost of commuting and having a lunch budget so that definitely helps. Read more>>
Yes, I have a monthly budget that includes personal and business expenses. I have always kept a journal to write down my expenses each month, the amounts, and due dates. I began to do this in my early 20’s while being employed to keep track of my bills and savings. I always put the amount I want to save each month back first and then budget around the amount that is leftover. This is what I call “paying myself first.” Read more>>
