We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, why did you pursue a creative career?
Growing up I always admired my mother’s creative mind when it came to holidays and special occasions. I watched her decorate for endless events, from decorating our rooms for Valentine’s Day to making special gifts for our teachers at school. As a young mother of boys, I found myself doing the same thing for my children. I was a single mom who pursued the safe route of a career in corporate America for over six years , doing what I had to do but knowing that path was not for me. However, this opportunity was able to provide the stability that I needed at that time for my family. Over the years, friends and family have always valued and sought out my opinion when it came to birthday parties or any event, big or small they were having that month. I have always loved decorating for any occasion and using my creativity to bring others joy. Three years ago I got offered my dream job working for a interior design company based out of California. It required a lot of travel and demanded me to be away from my husband and Children whom will always come first. After that I knew I had to pursue something that I loved doing and that I was good at. At my daughters 3rd birthday party I did all the decor myself and went all out! And from there, the rest is history! I knew I had found my calling

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me apart from others is that this is not just a business for me, I genuinely love what I do and the fulfillment I receive after each successful event and each satisfied customer is what inspires me to keep going. I enjoy meeting with customers and listening to their vision and putting my creative spin on it to exceed their expectations. I think what I am most proud of is the response I get once I complete an install and the look on my customers face. It makes them more excited about they’re event and confident in the affair that they are hosting that they went above and beyond to make it special. My customers have become customers for life and I am so proud of the amount of repeat clients and referrals that I am able to obtain.

Being an entrepreneur is never easy, going out on your own in never easy. The work never ends and you have to make yourself available to customers 24/7, be quick to respond and send quotes, and keep up with all aspects of social media in order to keep your business relevant.

I am a firm believer in you are who you surround yourself with and I have been fortunate to be surround by great mentors and inspiring likeminded go-getters. Through this I have learned to trust myself more but also keep an open mind by continuing to learn and grow with each opportunity.

Coming up with a name for my business I knew I wanted to incorporate my daughters name in it as she was the reason why I wanted to pursue my passion.. my brother in law actually helped me come up with liv by creations. Her birthday party is what gave me the confidence to go out on my own. I enjoyed the process and outcome so much that internally I knew that I could do this for a living, I could make this a business so that’s what I did and although it hasn’t been easy it’s the best decision I have ever made.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Bishop arts is the new hangout place..There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars around Bishop Arts, and it is definitely way more quiet than staying in Uptown or Downtown Dallas. But for great food definitely a must stop is Monarch for dinner ! During the day shopping in highland park is always a good idea. San Martin bakery and odd fellows are my go to for brunch spots . And ending The night at Casablanca for karaoke.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My children are my everyday inspiration but I wouldn’t be able to purse my dream without the support and stability that my husband provides for our family . I’m so grateful to have someone to push me out of my comfort zone.
