We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Finley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My wife and I have always wanted to own our own business. We never could nail down exactly what we wanted to do. I have a strong mechanical background so I naturally gravitated to anything in the automotive industry. I started paying attention to all the other tow companies in our area. There was one common trait I noticed about most of them; they had all been in business for 20+ years. That prompted me to further research and watch the industry, especially in Central Kentucky. There is a lot of competition around here which is probably why no one tried to start a new towing service. Something about the towing industry intrigued me. It consumed all my thoughts and time. I researched this business until I knew I could no longer learn more without taking that leap of faith. We started our business in June of 2021. There has been a lot of learning, we learn something new every week, but a lot of fun too. It’s very rewarding to watch something you worked so hard for flourish and grow.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I will say the one thing I take great pride in is my 5-star Google Rating. In this industry its all about the customer service. Without my customers, I have nothing. We are still a very young business but everything we have achieved so far has been nothing but hard work. It has been long nights, early mornings and a bunch of hurdles. The one thing I would tell any new business owner is don’t let one bad day or hiccup get you down. Keep going; keep chasing those goals. My goal is for Finley’s Towing and Recovery to be the best towing operation in Central Kentucky. We want to grow and provide the best possible service to anyone in need.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many awesome things to do in Central Kentucky. I would probably take them to The Kentucky Horse Park and tour a few bourbon distilleries like Buffalo Trace. We would have to eat/drink at some local restaurants in my hometown, Georgetown, KY, such as Galvin’s, and Country Boy Brewing. Honestly,

I could name a hundred things to do around here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
100% my wife. I could not have started this business without her. She is the backbone of Finley’s Towing and Recovery. She manages our books, technology, marketing, etc. Anything behind the scenes she makes it happen.
