We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex and Rayssa Papadopoulos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex and Rayssa, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
We got engaged in December of 2020 and shortly after we moved from Tampa, Florida to Dallas, Texas for Alex’s job. We had always been into DIY and decor projects. We knew we wanted to make a business out of our hobby and passion of DIY, so while we began to plan our wedding, the idea hit us during the 2021 snowstorm….lets build a mobile bar with our style and have it completed for our wedding. After the overall goal was to create a business that could provide that added touch of a pop up entertainment trailer/bar experience for our clients. We wanted a blank canvas that could work for all type of events, weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, you name it!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Alex is a Mechanical Engineer for a large company in Dallas and I am an entrepreneur/ fitness professional We decided to put our experiences and passion for business and DIY together to create a unique product that can capitalize on the large special event market in the Dallas area.

What sets us apart is the top-notch customer service that caters completely to our clients needs while being personable and exciting to work with. When our clients host a special event, the value we set out to offer between the integrated bubbly bar, outdoor seating, exquisite photo op bar, plus much more, this sets us apart with our affordable prices. We are extremely excited to progress in this marketplace while meeting/working/collaborating with the other amazing people in this market place, such as caterers, wholesalers, bartenders, venues, etc.

The start was not easy since storage was limited and logistics was a challenge, but by incorporating our decor, design and engineering experience, we were able to leverage this to build the mobile bar. Our first big goal and challenge was to complete the trailer in time to showcase it at our own wedding, which we finished a few days before the big day!

Along the way we got our hands on some new tools that we had to learn how to use fast while quadruple checking our design intent, “measure twice cut once”, is the saying. We also needed to learn website development, creating content while utilizing SEO. We are still playing around with this but we have gathered a nice following and will continue to enjoy the ride.

The brand of Wheels On Tap is focused on three things. One, Ease for our clients, being a one stop shop by organizing the bartenders, having the bar decor and furniture to create a stand-out feature for any event. This allows for our clients to sit back and enjoy the event with their friends, family, colleagues. Two, provide a quality product 100% of the time at a good value, while most rental companies charge for every little line item, we include all that we have to offer under any rental duration package. Three, to elevate every event with an energetic and friendly staff while continuing to be professional in all event responsibilities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
DFW has so much to offer between all the different restaurants, museums, and shopping. Since we’ve moved here we have been overwhelmed with the amount of things to do.

We love to eat so we have put a small dent in the local foodie places. We would definitely have to go to Vidorra in Addison which has some of the best latin food we’ve ever had and an awesome Tulum style outdoor/indoor atmosphere.
Also coming to Dallas, you have to have some Texas BBQ, so Hard Eight is a must stop. While on vacation, brunch is always a must, recently we hit a really nice brunch spot in Addison called Ida Claire which had a great Chicken n’ Waffles and uppity environment with good drinks.

To visit we would make a day trip to the Ft. Worth Stockyards which I don’t think you can find anywhere else like it in the states. Grab a cold alcoholic drink and walk the stockyards and make sure we are there for the cattle drive to see the beautiful longhorns, this breathes the country Texas everyone expects.

When the sun going down one night we would need a nice laid back evening, Grandscape and the Truck yard in the Colony is a sweet spot with good drinks and music. Perfect for a low key afternoon.

For a Saturday night, going downtown for a Mavs or Stars game, and after we would head towards some of the cool places like the Tipsy Alchemist in Turtle Creek or the various places in Uptown.

During one of the days we would stroll around downtown and check out some of the awesome museums, such as the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. There is also a very interesting museum we have yet to check out but really want to, which is “The Samurai Collection” in the Harwood District.

Those are some of the exciting places and attractions we would love to show our family and friends when they come to town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to our family out in Proper, Texas who allowed us to take over their weekends while working on the trailer in their driveway, Omar Torres deserves a huge shoutout for helping us build our mobile bar trailer from the ground up. His experience, generosity and handy man work taught us a lot along the way. Thank you Omar!
