We had the good fortune of connecting with Partydreams Dallas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Partydreams, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking a risk can be scary, but it can also lead to huge rewards. We decided to move to Texas from Ohio in July of 2021 and immediately loved it. That is a risk in itself, but we knew taking a chance was the only way for us to grow as people. In Ohio, we were introduced to Partydreams after attending the wedding of a friend who used the Cleveland location’s items and they were so beautiful, and the business model made so much sense. After moving, we had been looking for an opportunity to open our own business doing something we loved, and our minds came right back to Partydreams.

We moved here not knowing many people and not really knowing the area, but we knew we wanted a new challenge and thus, Partydreams Dallas was born! We are the first location in Texas and the West in general, so we knew it would be a risk for us to open a business in a place where we don’t have a support system of friends and family to promote us. In all honesty, taking the risk was a blessing in disguise – it forced us out of our comfort zone: We had to reach out to local businesses and local vendors and create new relationships, that we may have not done if we hadn’t taken risks.

So for us, taking a risk is at the heart of our business and at the heart of who we are as people. And to us, this is the only way to grow as a business and personally.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Partydreams Dallas is a team-effort between owners Alexis and Brandon. By day, Alexis works as a forensic scientist while Brandon works in the biomedical field. While we are both passionate about the work we do in our fields, we have felt we were missing the flexibility and creativity that comes with owning and running your own business. I think now more than ever, we are in the age of remote work and of job-seekers looking for a great environment, not just a paycheck.

Thus, we set out to open our own small business. We want to create an environment for ourselves, our clients, and potential future employees of ease, joy, and freedom. We have found so many workplaces end up cultivating cultures that foster burn-out, fatigue, and complacency. In the wedding and event industry, we are all about new beginnings, happiness, and celebration. So, we strive to make being a part of Partydreams Dallas more than “going to work”. By creating this culture from the beginning, it reflects in our relationships with our clients. And ultimately, at Partydreams Dallas, we serve our clients. We are here to spark joy, provide elegant decor, and maintain affordability for our clients.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The best part of living in the metroplex is that the opportunities are endless – literally. After first moving here, we embarked on a taco & margarita tour of the city, which led us to Desperado’s. We take everyone who visits to Desperado’s for the tacos, no exceptions! Living in Grapevine means we can treat our guests to a beautiful, small town atmosphere while still being close to the city. We love stopping in all the shops and having a bite to eat on the patio at the many stores and restaurants in Grapevine. And of course – you can’t go to Grapevine without stopping at a winery or two.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, we have to shoutout our company, Partydreams Ltd.! Based out of Cincinnati, Ohio, the company has grown so much in the last few years and has created a network of so many talented owners who are supportive, innovative, and care so much about helping other location owners succeed. Without the community that our company has created, we would not be as successful as we have been since opening.

Of course, we also owe it to our family and friends who have supported us in every way possible. Although we are about a thousand miles away from most of them, the power of social media has allowed our loved ones to support and promote us as we grow our business.

And it’s also important for us to recognize our amazing clients, who trust us to be a part of their big day. Without them, we would not have a business: they are at the heart of it all.

And last but, of course, not least, we want to recognize several vendors who have promoted and helped us as we grow our business:

Macie Eliza Photos – We reached out to Macie to get her take on this very shoutout series! She has been great to work with and even drove out to Grapevine to take photos of us. She is great and helped us with this process so much!

Chatelet by Bluelofts – We came across this venue and fell in love! It’s a beautifully renovated old church complete with giant stained glass windows and a beautiful, modern touch. They have passed our name on to clients and for that, we are always grateful. We are also working with them on several open houses and are so excited to be involved in events in their gorgeous venue.

Messina Hof Winery (Grapevine) – Messina was one of the first venues that we connected with as we were getting started and they treated us like old friends right away. We are excited to work with them in the future!
