We had the good fortune of connecting with Tricia Lindsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tricia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that taking risks is one of the greatest ways we can grow in life. It’s so easy to sit back and stay comfortable where you’re at in life, but it’s one of the best feelings to accomplish something that once scared you. For me, Tricia’s Table is a mix of building relationships with restaurants, and most recently a way to promote my charcuterie boards.
At the beginning of 2021 I set a goal for myself to officially launch my charcuterie board business back in Chicago called Heartcuterie. I spent a lot of time researching ways to maximize my budget, how to deliver boards, marketing techniques and more. I was scared. I was nervous that people wouldn’t like my charcuterie boards or that my designs weren’t going to be unique enough. But, as my sales began to grow, the confidence within my grew. I realized that if I never took a leap of faith and believed in myself, I would be sitting here today wishing I had the courage to try something new.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started Tricia’s Table when I was a junior in college at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. I have always had a passion for cooking and eating, so Instagram became an outlet for me to share pictures and videos of the food I was making and the restaurants I was eating at.
I started engaging with brands online and sharing their food on my Instagram account. Slowly, I started to build a following and since then have been asked to work with grocery store brands, wine companies, and other consumer goods companies. Tricia’s Table is my passion project turned side job with the start of my charcuterie board making business, Heartcuterie. But, during the day I work full time for a market research company.
Heartcuterie has been a continuous labor of love and I have seen first-hand how difficult it is to grow a small business. COVID-19 has actually been a huge blessing because as more people started having gatherings at home, charcuterie boards became a way for my customers to add a little spice to their get together.
I’ve been challenged in numerous ways, both good and bad. I’m constantly being challenged creatively to understand what my customers want and how to provide them with the most delicious and unique boards. I’ve also been challenged by customers where I have to stand my ground and remain true to my business and the amount of work I am realistically able to do. I never want the quality of my charcuterie boards or the quality of my Tricia’s Table instagram account to suffer because I’m stretched too thin. It’s all about balance.
Tricia’s Table is my creative outlet and allows me to use my PR, advertising and social media skills to meet awesome restaurant owners and experience delicious food. I continue to grow and learn each day and I’m excited for what the future holds, especially as I recently made the move from Chicago to Dallas/Fort Worth.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have only been in Fort Worth for about 3-months, so this is an easy question. I’ve spent so much time visiting new neighborhoods and checking out the great bar and restaurant scene. If I had a friend come visit me here’s what we’d do:
I would start with breakfast at BREWED on Magnolia. They have the best chicken & waffle topped with their housemade syrup. Magnolia is also a great place to start because there are so many unique murals and art that are worth of a photo op.
Then, we’d visit the Fort Worth Zoo or the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. Visitor’s choice! Contrary to popular belief, the Fort Worth Zoo is not just for kids. It’s home to so many different animals and it’s a beautiful place to spend your morning. On the other hand, the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens are a gorgeous place to visit. It’s a great spot to enjoy nature and once the weather is a little bit warmer – to see all the blossoming flowers and plants.
We’d swing by Velvet Taco for a quick taco break and, of course, grab a Korean Fried Rice taco and a Mexi-Cali Shrimp taco. Two of my absolute favorites.
If you’re visiting Fort Worth it’s only right to check out the Stockyards, and if you are there at either 11:30am or 4:00pm you will see the daily cattledrive through the stockyards. There’s so much to do in the Stockyards including listening to live music or watching bull riding and tire roping.
Some other noteworthy places to check out in Fort Worth are Sundance Square, the University Village Mall, the Fort Worth Water Gardens and if you’re here for a long weekend, I suggest you take a pit master barbecue class from Brisket U!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shout out to my fiancé, Tommy. Throughout every step of the way as I started to grow Tricia’s Table and evolve with Heartcuterie he has been my biggest supporter. He taught me a lot about the logistics behind starting a business and challenged me to never settle.
It’s a really amazing feeling when you have great friends and family that support your dreams and push you to be better every day.

First photo – I recently got engaged to my boyfriend, Tommy, back in November. He proposed in Denver, Colorado where he was playing rugby. We moved here to Fort Worth because he is now playing professional rugby with the Dallas Jackals. He is my biggest supporter. 2nd and 3rd photos – These are just a few of the dozens of charcuterie boards I made this past year. I love when people ask me to make themed boards or have special requests for certain meats, cheeses, etc. 4th photo – Velvet Taco in Fort Worth is one of my favorite spots. Phone always eats first!
