We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia Rogers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Cynfully Soul Good was created for the sole purpose of creating revenue for Divas DFW Inc., a mentoring program for at-risk adolescent girls. In November 2021, we launched our vegan cheese sauce and organic spice blends to encourage us to watch what we consume. Our future goals are to provide job opportunities in the DFW metroplex and educate others about a plant-based lifestyle.
What sets you apart from others? What are you most proud of, or excited about? How did you get to where you are professionally? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenge? What are lessons you’ve learned along the way? What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What sets me apart from others is that I’ve produced products and recipes that remind you of southern comfort flavors. I’m excited because I can visualize my hard work paying off. I’m where I am today by continuing to put my best foot forward, addressing areas I need to change and understanding what works best for my business. Learning a new craft is not always easy. There may be tremendous setbacks but I believe once you’ve connected with the right resources and have a plan of action, the path isn’t as difficult. The lessons I’ve learned and continue to learn are to keep doing the work.
I want the world to know that our products are specifically made for those who have food allergens, such as soy, nuts and dairy but are great for everyone. Our spice blends are organic and made with the best quality ingredients.
If my best friend was visiting the area where would I take them? Give us a week itinerary, of where you would eat, drink, visit, hang out etc. In your view what are some of the most fun, interesting exciting people, places or things to check out?
If my friend was visiting for the week, the visit would be jammed packed with some of my favorite places to visit.
Day one, tour Downtown Dallas via Segway Nation Dallas while learning the history of Dallas. We would venture off to Deep Ellum, have lunch at Shoal’s Sound & Service then bar hop to have a few drinks and listen to the diverse music in the area.
Day two, we would first visit the Perot Museum. Then, we would hang out at Klyde Warren Park and enjoy a fantastic meal at Belse Restaurant.
Day three, pack lunch for a picnic at the Dallas Arboretum and enjoy the beautiful sceneries. We would take a quick nap, before visiting the hip Bishop Arts District.
Day four, spend the day shopping at North Park Mall and explore the beautiful homes in Highland Park. We would end the night at True Food Kitchen.
Day five is a day of relaxation and rejuvenation. We would lounge at the Omni’s Infinity Pool and enjoy the amazing views before retreating to Mokara’s Spa for a complete spa experience.
Is there a person, group, organization, book, etc., that you want to dedicate your shoutout to? Who else deserves a little credit and recognition in your story?
First and foremost, I want to dedicate the shoutout to my great-grandmother. She was the person who gave me the first fruits of a kitchen foundation, I wouldn’t be where I am today without her insights.
I also dedicate my story to my current role as a paralegal. The diversity of the career has awarded me knowledge I would not have known if it wasn’t for this career path. Last but not least, the mentorship I’ve received through SCORE Association of Fort Worth and my circle of associates that support me every step of my journey.
