We had the good fortune of connecting with Radharani Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Radharani, why did you pursue a creative career?
Since I was a little girl I watched my dad paint and felt that this was the normal way of life, having a job that paid the bills while you dedicated yourself to what really fed your soul
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work speaks of conquered fears or processes that have no other way out than art. It is an introspective work, an escape route to everything that I cannot control (which is a lot). Many find it macabre but sincere. I paint, embroid, draw, sew …
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love food so much! but also the museums and the cinema. Cineteca Nacional is one of my fav spots in city, but also the Rufino Tamayo´s Museum and the Universitary Museum of Contemporary Art. For a nice meal i prefer something casual as Amasijo in Narvarte or Te Cuento in Del Valle.
The downtown zone is also one of my favorite places to see. The Museum Bellas Artes is a beautiful edification surrounded by another amazing places as the Nacional Museum of Arts, The Postal Office and the beautiful barroque work inside the metropolitan cathedral.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
