We had the good fortune of connecting with Raphael and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raphael, how do you think about risk?
I love taking risk, without risk I wouldn’t be where I’m at right now, I took a risk to start making music and believing in myself and now I’m finally happily chasing my dreams.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m not your regular artist, I believe I am one of the best young talented individuals coming out of Houston Texas, the type of music I make is called Afro yankee & I invited it, Afro yankee is the combination of both Afo beats and the American lifestyle mixed with the Nigerian lifestyle. I got to where I’m at today by working hard and believing in myself, a lot of people doubted me but I proved them wrong as I always do. I’m most proud of myself and what I have accomplished I know I still have a long way to go but I’m ready and excited for the battles. The lesson I’ve learned so far is to do whatever you do for yourself and do it because you love it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly i really don’t be touring my city so I really don’t know any spots to have fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a big shoutout to me two beautiful managers/ assistant Ada and grace I love them so much, they made me believe in myself even more than I already did, I’ll also love to give a shoutout to my family & friends that has been with me since day one.
