We had the good fortune of connecting with Dee Ware and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dee, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
I think the most important lesson has been learning to be disciplined and trusting the process. In anything you do in life you get out of it what you put in. After working for other people it can be challenging to stay focused, keep a consistent schedule and other things that entrepreneurs must manage on their own as dar as day to day operations. No one is going to make you get up. You can’t show up and halfway perform and still get paid. Putting in your notice at your job to build your business isn’t break time is GO TIME.
What should our readers know about your business?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Friday check into an Airbnb in either downtown, Midtown or the Heights
Saturday I would recommend the new farmers market on airline. It is undergoing a multi million dollar renovation and you can stock up on everything you need for your Airbnb from local growers and chefs.
We would start with brunch at Lucille’s on Sunday and hang out downtown Houston at the open air Secret Garden for craft cocktails.
Monday is a universal day of rest but Houston is a foodie city so for breakfast hit up The Breakfast Kline and then go get some crawfish from BB’s Cafe for dinner.
Tuesday all of the local shops open so take your self guided shopping tour that day. I recommend you take Tres Barrió (Three Hoods) shopping tour. On this tour you will experience 3 of Houston’s most prominent, eclectic and fashionable neighborhoods (The Heights, Midtown and Rice Village).
Wednesday is wine down Wednesday. Boat the newly renovated botanical gardens housing a plethora of plant species and take the fresh air, creative spaces, sculptures and get some cool pics. Afterwords You have to visit Houston’s newest wine bar Roots Wine Bar
Thursday is thirsty Thursday so it’s time for Happy Hour at the museum. The latest exhibits are free on Thursdays in the museum district at most museums. Houston is known worldwide for its district so you must go check it out. The new cafe offers a nice Happy Hour.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to say my grandmother. We would ride the bus downtown in the weekends and shop basement sales and flea markets. I would see the people working and hear her talking to them about their businesses, their sales, how they may have had challenging weeks in sales, etc. We would skip the big grocery stores to support the smaller local farmers. I love connecting with people, experiencing culture and continuing to evolve personally and in business. This was because of her.
