My favorite quote is something my dad has said to me since I was a child. Whenever I was having a difficult time deciding what to do or when he could tell I had something heavy on my brain he’d always sit me down and say, “It’s your little red wagon. You can choose to push it or pull it. Or you can let it stand.” It makes me feel comforted because it’s basically a reminder that I can make my own decisions. It takes the power away from the situation and gives it back to me. It’s easy to get lost in your worries and thoughts but that little quote empowers me. That was an important lesson he taught me about giving situations careful thought and learning that I can either work at it or leave it alone and be ok with whatever I decide to do.
