Meet Chierra Williams | Music Curator and Podcast Host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chierra Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chierra, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When I think about what prevents many people from taking risks one thing comes to mind. Fear. Fear also known as ‘False Evidence Appearing Real’ leads to ‘What Ifs’ and dreaming up situations that may never come to fruition. However, I’ve learned to reframe these thoughts to think of it in a positive light. What if this works out? What if people do listen and share? What if this brings forth new opportunities? What if this is the start of a new journey? There is so much to gain on the other side of a risk. So give it some thought and weigh your options, but don’t allow fear to hold you back because within that risk lies your reward. For me, the risk of starting my music curation page led to the launch of my podcast. If I didn’t take the first step towards embracing my passions some of the things that have brought me so much joy would never have happened.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Chierra Lindsay is a digital creator whose purpose is to support and encourage young adult women to discover newness within life through music.

She is also the music curator behind Chi’s CheckIn which is purposed in cultivating a community of curated music that inspires, invigorates, and brings joy to each person that listens by exposing them to the art of others. What makes the playlists different? They are a reflection of Chierra. The playlists celebrate the good in music and the art that many underground artists create. She loves to smile, sing, and dance. She hopes this playlist, and all future playlists, provide you with music that helps you do the same.

She is the host of The Pieces Podcast, purposed in facilitating opportunities to convene with God through music-led devotionals. Through each podcast episode, she brightly guides listeners and introduces them to the source of light within her, Christ, and how He shows up in the modern world and music. Chierra specifically chose music as the podcast’s platform because it can powerfully transform your whole mood, forge connections, and spark conversations. By sharing her unique faith journey for over half a year now, The Pieces Podcast has reached a listening community of over 4,900 downloads from around the world.

The road hasn’t been smooth, but it definitely has been one of self-discovery. As a creative, she’s struggled to be fully confident in what she does. She doubted her gift as something that couldn’t contribute to my space. Thankfully, she’s blessed with an amazing tribe that encouraged her and a vision from the Lord that helped her take the first step into purpose. Along this journey, she learned she is capable, equipped, passionate, and needed.

For anyone that has a passion but is afraid to sprint towards your goal: don’t look back at the doubts that may be chasing you. You are valuable. Your voice is the key to trailblazing a path for others. Share it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my go to places are Soiree Coffee Bar, True Kitchen & Kocktails, and the Daiquiri Shoppe. What’s even more special is that all of these businesses are black owned. Additionally, If someone is visiting Texas they must enjoy some Tex-Mex like Taqueria la Ventana and they also should visit Gloria’s as the margaritas are some of the best.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The main person that deserves recognition for my success is the Lord and all the people who have supported my playlists and podcast. Each person who has listened, shared a post of mine, or told another person about Chi’s CheckIn or The Pieces Podcast is more than appreciated by me.
