We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Hollis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I knew that business was more than supplying goods; I wanted Bubble Dolce to provide a quality experience that would tie together my creativity, quality products, customer service, and the client’s well being. I knew I had to develop a plan that comprises each of those 4 elements. I tend to have a project-based mindset. I keep the end-game in mind first and I work backwards by setting small goals leading to the ultimate goal.
Success is the sum of small efforts repeated over and over again. I had confidence in working through each step of my plan with desirable results. Maintaining confidence was crucial
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My business is centered on soap making, bath bombs, scrubs and various resin art to complement the bath products. Making these products brings an intrinsic motivation in that it exhibits my inventiveness and science background and allows me to marry the two. I got my degree from the University of North Texas in Denton in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Education. One of my earliest assignments was soap making when we studied Saponification in Organic Chemistry. After this experience, I instantly thought of all the many ways I can take a soap recipe and make it my own to benefit many. Years after graduating and teaching science full time for almost 10 years, I feel blessed that this long-standing idea has come to fruition.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The city has so much to offer. The perot museum is one of my favorites. They put together some of the most exciting events I’ve gone to in the city. Addison Village on the Parkway has great places to frequent as well from brunch hours to late night.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Support starts with those close to you. I’m very thankful to have my friends and family help at vendor events, test products and spread the word of my products.
