We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Sublet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, what do you attribute your success to?
I think the most important factor behind the success of Graze A Board is our attention to detail and consistency. We pride ourselves in finding the best products for our boards. We also listen to our customers. A few items we have on our website are because customers asked and we created, for example our Brunch board and Jarcuterie.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think what sets us apart from others is our attention to detail and our product selection. No two boards are ever the same. We provide a customized board for each individual, tailored for them. I am most proud of how our business has grown in the last year and I’m excited for upcoming partnerships we are working on.
Our biggest challenge we had to over come is being able to set boundaries and saying no. As a small business, especially when you start you want to take every opportunity that comes your way. With that said you have to know your limits. We had to learn that saying no, sorry we can’t fulfill your order or sorry we are sold out for today is okay.
Business wise I think we got to where we are today by being consistent and listening to our customers. Most of our business is word of mouth, so we make sure to take care of our customers.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my loved ones come to visit I want to give them the full Texas experience. So first we would start with Breakfast/Brunch at Savory Kitchen for their Bottomless Mimosas. Head over to Cookie Society in Frisco to gab some cookies and amazing cinnamon roll for our drive to Fort Worth to experience the Stockyards. For lunch Velvet Taco because a weekend in Texas isn’t complete without Tacos. For dinner Uncork’d Bar & Grill Frisco for some great food, wine and live band. Day 2 breakfast at Ida Claire. Next downtown to visit Reunion Tower and JFK tour. Pit stop for lunch in Deep Elm at Pecan Lodge. Drive back to Frisco for a walk around at The Star. Happy hour at Legacy Food Hall, then dinner at Mash’d.
Day 3 Breakfast at Leo’s Brunch House in Little Elm. Then walk across the street to hang out at the Little Elm beach. Rent some kayaks and paddle-boards from DFW Surf and of course snack on some Graze A Board snack boxes. After a day at the beach we unwind at Fortunata Winery in Aubrey for some delicious food, wine and live music.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Frisco Business moms group deserves credit for getting our business started. This group is filled with supportive business women. It was in this group we first posted about our small business and we received tremendous love and support. Shoutout to them!
