We had the good fortune of connecting with Neera Rajput Truong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Neera, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by the success people with wild imaginations have! Nusre Gocke started as a meat butcher and later when he was given the opportunity, he had the idea to cover steak with gold, and it caught on. Not only does it sound off the wall, it sounds impractical, but he made it work. I was just at his restaurant and was struck with the sheer audacity it takes to bring our wildest ideas out into the world. Still, he’s a human at his core and he was wonderful with my kids which was impressive. Speaking of which, my two children, Nayan (15) and Naina (13) get me out of bed every morning. Even if I don’t want to. They understand my work and my dreams. It’s funny, but when I have a closing or someone asks about Aya Bliss, they give me a high five. They understand we are a family and when one of us does well, we all do. I am so grateful everyday their souls chose me to be their mother. Of course, as an Indian mother, I may yell at my teenagers for getting a B. I’m just thankful that’s all I have to yell about. I’m impressed and inspired by how they actually encourage me to do more and be better! Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Kids teach us more than we think we are teaching them.
What should our readers know about your business?
Being creative helps in all aspects of life and work. As a Bollywood dancer, I’ve always had a creative flair, and it’s helped me think outside the box with real estate and Aya Bliss. There’s no ‘one way’ to buy a home, sell an investment, or even to micro-dose. There is no one size fit’s all in life, unless you’re a woman buying a swim suit coverup. Seriously though, yes the traditional approach is a solid foundation in real estate, but I love how I can surprise my clients by trying something new. This means offering to bring your elderly client boxes when she’s downsizing and dropping a client off for a massage after an international flight. Other realtors might tell you that’s a waste of time. I say everyone is different, and every approach must be as well. If not, you’re falling short of your potential. Yes. I make mistakes. Anyone who doesn’t is a liar or a deity, but I’m learning to set better boundaries so I can be more efficient with balancing real estate and Aya-Bliss. At the end of the day, if I’m not serving my family, my friends, or my community, then why am I even here?
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Dallas Arboretum. OMG. The membership is so worth it to get away without going away. It gets hot in the summer (where doesn’t?), but nothing beats that view of the gardens and White Rock Lake. If you’ve got some Aya Bliss, It’s a great place to micro-dose and have an afternoon get away. If it’s too hot to go out, The Dallas Museum of art is always a good time. My kids used to love the mummy with the dead feet sticking out, and I like the Piet Mondrians. The Nasher doesn’t have any bodies in the basement, but it does have a Picasso. Worth checking out if you’re in the neighborhood. The museums are so close to uptown and the design district where there is good food and shopping making a perfect ending after a day at the museums. Did you know Fort Worth has one of the largest modern art collections outside of Europe? I think it comes in right after NYC. And they’ve got the Texas honky tonk everyone thinks of when you hear “Texas”. If it’s your first time to Dallas a quick visit to Tarrant county is allowed. Did I say quick? (LOL) I know what you’re really after, though. Where would I take you for tacos? La Banqueta on K Avenue in Plano or on Gaston Ave in Dallas is really good. Dallas is almost standing room only and they are the best. It’s also around the corder from Lorraine at My Chakra Center, which I love to surprise my clients and out of town guests to her mini 30min chakra healing. While we’re talking about taking care of ourselves and others, Petrissage Massage in Rockwall offers the barre foot massage to dig deep and release what is no longer serving you. My favorite thing to do for my guests to pamper them with this massage. Helen and Jameelah are excellent and leave you feeling rested and empowered at the same time. I’ve become quite good and knowing what activities will suit people. Which is why I love Dallas and all the options our metroplex offers. Hemisphere brewing for a pint is also a perfect spot. That’s a good combination if you’ve got some time off with me. You know I’ll be taking to you see the amazing Swiss avenue homes and luxury real estate in-between all these stops! My list can go on and on but I can’t tell you all my secret spots of Dallas!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shoutout to Tina Rani of Venice Rani. She was passionate to a fault and full of life while deep with pain. I’m so grateful for my sister; when she decided her time on earth was done it was devastating. It’s surprising what confusion and sadness can lead you to. Thank you for always loving me during our sisterly fights, always supporting me, and always wanting the best for me. I know you are orchestrating Aya Bliss and my life from the heavens. We miss you on earth but understand the work you are doing could only be done from the other side. I love you.
