We had the good fortune of connecting with Terria Nichols and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terria, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Every part of life involves risk. You either take the risks that come along with following your dreams or you risk living in regret. Every decision that I’ve made in my life until now involved some level of risk. When I left my corporate position for the second time in March 2020, the country was quarantined a week later. Instead of looking at this as a setback I used it to my advantage and pivoted my business to what it is today. Not only am I offering in-person training packages but I also offer virtual and online options, two risks I might not have taken had it not been for quarantine.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
TerriaFit is about more than just fitness. I help women level up by teaching by example. I started my own fitness journey after the birth of my daughter in 2007. I gained 70lbs during that pregnancy and was working full time at my corporate position at the same time. As I worked to lose the extra weight, I began to gain confidence, clarity, and a sense of purpose. I discovered that my true gift was helping other women gain the confidence and clarity that I had now discovered. In 2014 I decided to leave the corporate world to pursue fitness full time and since then I have been able to guide dozens of women through their on transformation.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love being outdoors so I would start by visiting some of my favorite hiking spots including Fort Worth Nature Preserve, Cedar Ridge Preserve, and Eagle Mountain Lake. The Fort Worth Botanical Gardens would be next on the list followed by trips to some of my favorite spots to eat on Magnolia including Spiral Diner and Yucatan Taco Stand.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family has played a major part in my success. Over the past 6 years their continued support of my dream has made it possible. Although my family isn’t largely involved in the fitness world or the entrepreneurial world they have constantly encouraged me to chase my dreams and to do whatever needs to be done to see it through.
