We had the good fortune of connecting with Annie Combs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Annie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was that I wanted to make an easily accessible and unique gift giving business for my local community. More than anything though, I wanted it to be a fun and new experience for myself! At first, I was not sure where this new beginning would take me or how far it would grow, I was just excited to bring to life fun ideas I had had in the past!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It has definitely taken a lot of commitment, drive, and joy for what I do to get me to where I am today! Starting, and managing any business can be a difficult task but I think that as long as you’re having fun with what you’re doing, it is all worth it in the end!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a Dallas girl, born and raised. Getting to explore all of the wonderful, exciting, and unique places that Dallas has to offer is one of my favorite things to do. I hear about a new restaurant every weekend and am always down to try something new! If I were to show someone around Dallas, a few of my stops would include… Shopping in Highland Park Village and eating at Honor Bar or Mi Cocina after, walking along the Katy Trail and stopping for a drink at the Katy Trail Ice House, or having a picnic at Lakeside park out in the pretty weather! There are countless things to do in Dallas but those are a few of my favorite things to do year round!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friends, family, and community deserve all of the credit in my little story!!!! Without my friends, I would not have the encouragement that I have, without my family, I would not have the support that I have, and without my community and the kind people that have trusted me throughout the gift giving process, I would not have the influx of orders that I have received! I owe each and every bit of perks’ growth and success to each of them.
