We had the good fortune of connecting with Caleb Reese and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caleb, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In 2017 I knew I wanted to have something else of my own that I could be proud of. At that time I knew I wanted to have a brand, but did not know exactly what could sale or what audience I was looking to attract. Summer 2019 I decided that I wanted my own fragrance line for men and women, and that was what I was going to stick to. At that moment I had saved up thousands of dollars to move forward with launching my business. 2019 had come and gone and then 2020 hit. 2020 for most was a curse, but I truly believe it was a blessing for me and for many others. Being in the aviation industry I knew that I needed to have a target audience. I shifted gears from having my own fragrance line, to now having a travel accessory brand. I absolutely love to travel. I have been traveling on a plane (alone) since the age of seven and I thoroughly enjoy it. Creativity is something that has always come natural, so I knew this travel accessory line would be full of quality with the “Caleb stamp of approval” on it. Because of this, Michael Bold was created.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I actually have, what I call, one of the top customer service jobs in the world and that’s being a flight attendant. I have been in the aviation industry for seven and a half years but I’ve been a flight attendant for about six years now. I work for a major airline that has afforded me the opportunity to meet new people, experience different cultures, and make genuine friendships that I’ll forever be grateful for. Before aviation, I briefly went to school to get my political science degree. Later I realized that wasn’t what I wanted to do. I am currently finishing up my Mortuary Science degree and will be working on furthering that education as well. I’ve always been dedicated to being a helping hand to someone and besides being a lawyer, I knew that this field would give me that opportunity. I am concentrating on a duel role as a Funeral Director as well as an embalmer. I would have been finished with school a year ago, but such is life. Getting to where I am now, was not easy at all. I almost quit my third week of training for the flight attendant role, but God had intentionally ordered my steps to success because He knew where I was headed. Being an only child and growing up in a sheltered home and not always feeling good enough follows you. All of that follows you up until your adult age and I won’t say I have it rough, but I definitely don’t have it easy. I’ve learned that you cannot give up. I owed it to myself, to my family, to my future self that giving up was just never an option. What would I like the world to know about Michael Bold? First and foremost, quality is inclusive. Michael Bold provides hand made quality for an affordable price. Michael Bold isn’t just a “bag company”. My brand will soon be expanding and releasing multiple travel accessories that people can appreciate and truly be proud of. My goal wasn’t to just make money. I wanted to leave a mark not only for people to remember my brand, but for people to remember the person that Caleb Reese was after he departs this Earth. I want everyone to prosper and go after whatever goals and dreams they have buried in their hearts. Go after what you want!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am not from Dallas and I still literally use my GPS for everything, but one thing I do like to do is go out to have dinner and drinks. I love Legacy West in Frisco. The area is very classy, chill, and there’s plenty of eateries and bars there that will satisfy just about anyone. Drakes near Bluffview is a really good spot to eat and have a nice date. Stirr in Deep Elum, Fogo De Chão, Perry’s, Felix Culpa, etc etc…. there’s a lot to do in Dallas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost God will always be my top priority and the main reason why I am here giving you my story and testimony. He will forever get all of the glory and admiration for Michael Bold being what it is. I also have so many genuine supporters that truly want to see me succeed, but I cannot name them all. I do want it to be very well known that I admire and appreciation ever single person!
