We had the good fortune of connecting with Ed Le Cara and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ed, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After graduate school, there were no jobs available in my sector. I had no choice but to open my own business. Little did I know how difficult it is! I can’t believe it but that was 21 years ago. Since then I have opened numerous businesses…some successful and some not so much. Now I could never imagine working for someone else because I really don’t take orders very well.
What should our readers know about your business?
We are a boutique medical clinic offering a variety of products and services to help people feel, move and look better. I love our ‘patient first’ concept and we strive to exceed our customers expectations in a warm and friendly environment. Most of our patients are from the same community we live in and so we run into them at the kids’ games and events, in the store and at the coffee shop. Being part of the community helps us feel connected and good about what we bring to city.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dallas is a cool place divided into numerous neighborhoods that all have a different look and feel. Doing a car tour of where Bonnie & Clyde were from near the Trinity is a must. Visiting the site of JFK’s assassination is harrowing. The arboretum and Clyde Warren Park while eating downtown is beautiful and fun. Heading to Deep Ellum Brewing company for a pint and listening to live music is a really fun time. Town Hearth is my favorite restaurant in Dallas but anyone who comes has to visit Pecan Lodge for the best BBQ in the world. Sports fans need to visit ATT&T stadium and The Star in Frisco to see the Dallas Cowboys HQ.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Mom & Dad have been instrumental in my success. They demonstrated a commitment to hard work, education and philanthropy, and the church for me and my siblings growing up.
