Meet Juan Branch: Podcast Host of I’ll Have A Double

We had the good fortune of connecting with Juan Branch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juan, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Mark Cuban once said on Shark Tank. “Don’t follow your dreams follow your actions.” That quote resignated with me because so many people “want” to take chances and pursue their dreams but very few people are brave enough and are willing to deal with the bumps and bruises of that pursuit. So if you are among the brave ones that are out there trying to make it happen then you are already a winner. 

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been in the entertainment industry for over a decade. Actor/Comedian/Radio Host here in Dallas and LA. Currently I’m working on an awesome podcast called I’ll Have A Double. Also I’m a co-host of a live Youtube TV show called The Pitch. But I think my biggest accomplishment was producing and hosting my own TV show called Inside DFW for 4yrs. This was a concept I had in my head for years and to be able to get that concept on television was surreal. I interviewed celebs like Kevin Hart, Jonah Hill, Kevin James, Paula Patton and so many more. The key to success is pretty simple (on paper that is). 1) Enjoy the process. Don’t just stare at the finish line as if you’re trying to slay a dragon. Take it all in and enjoy the ride. 2) Don’t quit. No matter what. You may have to slow down or maybe even pivot. But always keep moving forward. 3) Surround yourself around like-minded people. They will be your energy source. I must be crazy to think I can make it in this industry. Therefore I must surround myself with other crazy people. 4) Probably the most important one. Believe in yourself. The only person that can stop you is you. Remember that! The thing I would love the world to know about me is that regardless of the many failures I never stopped believing in myself and refuse to lose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Assuming after Covid of course. Well I love food. But ambience is equally important. Here are some of my favorite places and areas in the Big D are as follows. Trinity Grove is a must see. Right across from the Margaret Hunt bridge. At night is one of the best views of Dallas. My favorite restaurant there is my man Julian at Beto and Sons. It’s a “Pimped out” Mexican joint with an amazing bar. Also don’t leave Trinity Grove before grabbing a slice of cake at Cake Bar. If you want a little culture in your life, hit up the Bishop Arts District. The spot I like to take the wife is Paradiso. Very good food, great ambience and more importantly very Instagram friendly. If downtown is more your jam you can’t go wrong with Deep Ellum. There is something for everyone down there. Tons of different cuisines, bars, shopping, etc. Lately my favorite area is at the corner of Ross and Hall St. Alice and the new Dahlia is one of the coolest one/two punches in Dallas. Either hit up Alice for some amazing sushi then head over to Dahlia for drinks. Or check out the amazing menu at Dahlia then head over and hang out with the cool kids at Alice for drinks later. Either way you’re going to have a blast. If you are single you will not have to look hard to find the good looking people of Dallas. They are out 7 days a week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Heidi Yates. She is successful swimwear designer here in Dallas. Over the last 2 years she has made a dream a reality and launched her swimwear line (self funded) at the age of 27.
