We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Gossett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I am a proud mother of seven beautiful and wonderful children!!  The most important thing I’ve done as a parent was to start my own business.   I believe by starting my own business I’ve inspired my children to work hard, to do what they have a passion for and invest in themselves.  My children have witnessed firsthand what it takes to be successful and I’m hopeful that through my trials and errors they learn how important it is persevere.  I am striving to be the example that they look to when they decide to embark upon their own adventures.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Ashley Gossett is Ashton Marie Cakes, LLC!!!  Over the course of my career I have had to make several adjustments and changes to propel my business into what I feel is the best version of Ashton Marie Cakes LLC.  I realized that I needed to rebrand myself to cater to my target audience which are Brides.   With rebranding came lots of sacrifice of time with my family and finances.  I had to be willing to go into unfamiliar places to gain knowledge that would grow my brand and give my company the right exposure.   The transition to the wedding industry made me evaluate what is important to me and what my purpose, value and vision is for my company.  In a world where everything is impersonal, passive, and face-paced I choose to still focus on what is most important to me….MY CUSTOMERS.     I love building my business one customer at a time.  I have a big heart and that is what sets me apart from others in the industry.  I pride myself on creating a great customer experience for each and every person I encounter.  I encourage everyone to be willing to chart unchartered territory and try those things that initially make you uncomfortable because that fortitude will help you get to where you want to be.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I enjoy spending time with friends and family when I am not busy baking.  There are many so many options to choose from to unwind/decompress after a hard day’s work. I enjoy Campuzanos for brunch and dinner, My Choice Spa & Wellness for relaxation, and to unwind for the remainder of the evening I would suggest House of Blues for good food and good music.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shout out to my loving husband of 12 years, Wesley, for being the most attentive and supportive human being ever!!! He is my friend, my encourager, and my support system.  There were times when I was mentally, emotionally, and physically ready to give up but each time he gave me reasons to keep going .  I can say without a shadow of a doubt that if he wasn’t with me day in and day out I would not be where I am today. Thank you Wesley Gossett for always having my back and loving me through this process.
