We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariah Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mariah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking a risk is like diving into an ocean. You’re unsure about what you may encounter. You don’t know enough. Will this risk be successful or will it lead to failure? But that’s also the beautiful part about taking the risk. You truly don’t know what may happen. Consequently, when you think about the negative outcome more than the positive outcome, that’s exactly what will manifest until your life. When creating Sync’d Life, I had to take a risk to reprogram my mind and step out of my comfort zone. I listened intently to my intuition and allowed my desire to push me towards a more purposeful life. Once your desire is rooted in something, taking the risk is easy.
What should our readers know about your business?
Sync’d Life is a wellness service dedicated to providing you with alternatives to creating a more holistic and balanced life. Our primary service, Reiki, is a Japanese hands-on healing technique that can benefit the mind, body, and soul. In our Reiki sessions, we focus heavily on the chakra system and shed light on any inactive or overactive chakras. The chakra system is like your spiritual bloodstream. When you do the work to bring your chakras into balance, you bring forth more healing and move closer to your best self. This is only one benefit of reiki, however. Reiki also allows your body to relax so it can naturally heal itself. It’s a great modality to couple with modern medicine, especially if you’ve recently been through surgery or have been feeling ill. Outside of reiki, Sync’d life prepares and sells elderberry syrup to those within the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Elderberry syrup is slowly becoming a staple in many homes due to its many health benefits. I would deem it an essential daily immune booster. When it comes to discussing Sync’d Life, I can go into deep discussions about my plans because the desire behind my intentions for this business is so pure. Honestly, I’m so proud of my growth. I envisioned Sync’d Life years ago. I literally sprung up from a dream at around 3:00 am, pulled out my phone, and started taking all of these notes. That dream stuck with me until I was called upon to act on it. If I’m proud of anything, I’m proud that I’m finally acting on my dream. The process of moving into entrepreneurship is not an easy task. I had to overcome so many battles. First, I had to go through my own healing process. I had to work through the things that were personally holding me back. I battled with feelings of doubt and fear. I also had to release the need for things to be perfect. Y’all, the Virgo in me struggled with that one. I began to tackle these challenges by practicing yoga and going to therapy. I really tapped into the spiritual side of my yoga journey. I love meditating and sitting with my thoughts. I gained more awareness about myself when I allowed myself to feel every emotion. Once you gain more awareness, God rewards you with more clarity. I’ll be the first to say that the healing process is ongoing, but the lessons are timely and endless! Sync’d Life is a budding rose that I’m watching unfold beautifully. I intend to water and nurture it as much as possible so that I may always be in a position to help those in my community move towards their higher self.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I can be a homebody, but I also love exploring new places and things. Although I’ve lived in the DFW area for some time now, I’m still finding out about new places, too. I will scroll through Facebook events to find something cool for the weekend like an art show, concert, or festival. I never make heavy plans because I like just finding my way to things. One thing is for sure we’d definitely spend a day outside with nature. I love nature walks and nice views so, I would recommend a preserve like Cedar Ridge or Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. I’d definitely find a good time, whether that be food and drinks at a restaurant or some good music and a fun crowd. You can never go wrong with good music, food, and drinks on any day of the week.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are several people I could shoutout and give recognition to, but the most important recognition will always go to God. The more I surrender, the more I align with the divine purpose for my life. I also have to thank my clients that have allowed me to share space and time with them. Honestly, the energy I get from them is so amazing. They’ve pushed me more than anybody. It keeps me motivated because the reward I receive from Sync’d Life is more than external. I love being of service to my community and helping others shift into their best self.
