We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Berthelet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When it comes to being an entrepreneur, I think that taking some risks is necessary. For me it was mainly a financial risk when I decided to stay at home and work on my company, and that involved quite a few more of the same type – for example, when I decided to invest in a website design/email suite for my business, and recently the switch from that to an automated e-commerce site and marketing plan. I see it as an investment, a way to go forward to newer and better circumstances,.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey into beading began in 2009 when I almost threw away an ad from a kit of the month club. I decided to try something new and was instantly addicted! I started off selling on Etsy and gradually grew my brand to the point I am at today – letting a professional marketing automation firm handle my promotions, and expanding my space in a local boutique. My motto is never stop trying. Even when things seem hopeless and nobody is encouraging you, there is nothing like the feeling of working at what you love and making money doing it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
