Meet Jasper Zhang | Automotive Preservation Expert & Founder of Rodeo Werkz

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasper Zhang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasper, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The biggest factor behind our success has been an obsession with quality and long-term reputation rather than short-term profit.
When I started Rodeo Werkz, I quickly realized that the automotive protection industry is full of shortcuts. Many shops focus on volume, speed, and low prices. We decided to take the opposite approach.
Every vehicle that comes through our shop is treated as if it were our own. We spend significant time on preparation, edge wrapping, precision installation, and final inspection because we understand that our clients are trusting us with vehicles that often represent years of hard work and personal achievement.
Another key factor is that I remain heavily involved in the business every day. I still inspect vehicles, communicate directly with customers, review installations, and continuously improve our processes. That level of owner involvement helps maintain a consistent standard that customers can rely on.
Most importantly, we have built our business around trust. Many of our customers drive Porsche, BMW M, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Tesla, and other enthusiast vehicles. They are not simply purchasing paint protection film or ceramic coating—they are trusting us to preserve something they care deeply about. We never take that responsibility lightly.
Over time, that commitment to quality, transparency, and customer experience has generated strong word-of-mouth referrals, repeat clients, and long-term relationships throughout the Dallas automotive community.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When I started Rodeo Werkz, I wasn’t trying to build the biggest shop in Dallas. I wanted to build a company that people could genuinely trust.
The automotive protection industry is highly competitive, and it’s easy to find businesses focused on speed, volume, and low prices. From the beginning, I chose a different path. I believed there would always be vehicle owners who cared about craftsmanship, attention to detail, and long-term quality over shortcuts.
Today, Rodeo Werkz specializes in paint protection film (PPF), ceramic coating, window tint, and vehicle preservation services for luxury, performance, and enthusiast vehicles throughout the Dallas area. Many of our clients drive Porsche, BMW M, Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Tesla, and other vehicles that represent years of hard work and personal achievement. We understand that protecting those vehicles requires more than just technical skill—it requires trust.
One thing that sets us apart is our commitment to owner involvement. Even as the company grows, I remain actively involved in vehicle inspections, customer communication, quality control, and process improvement. I believe the details matter, and maintaining a high standard starts with leadership.
The journey has not always been easy. Like many small business owners, I’ve faced challenges, setbacks, and moments of uncertainty. Building a reputation takes far longer than building a business. Over the years, I’ve learned that consistency, integrity, and patience are often more valuable than any marketing strategy.
What I am most proud of is the trust we have earned. Many of our customers return with additional vehicles, refer their friends and family, and continue supporting us years after their first visit. To me, that is the greatest measure of success.
If there is one thing I hope people take away from our story, it’s that Rodeo Werkz is not simply in the business of installing PPF or ceramic coating. We are in the business of preserving vehicles, protecting investments, and helping owners enjoy their vehicles for years to come.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Dallas for the first time, I would probably show them the city through the things I’m most passionate about: cars, entrepreneurship, great food, and meaningful conversations.
As the founder of Rodeo Werkz, I spend a lot of time around the Dallas automotive community. Dallas has become one of the strongest luxury and performance automotive markets in the country, and I enjoy attending local car events, Cars and Coffee gatherings, and connecting with fellow enthusiasts, collectors, and business owners. Some of the most valuable relationships I’ve built started with a simple conversation around a car.
For food and entertainment, I would take them to Legacy West, The Star in Frisco, and Grandscape in The Colony. These places represent the energy, growth, and ambition that make North Texas such an exciting place to live and build a business. They offer great restaurants, unique experiences, and an atmosphere that reflects the entrepreneurial spirit of the region.
I also enjoy exploring the diverse restaurant scene throughout Plano and North Dallas. One of the things I appreciate most about this area is how many different cultures and perspectives come together in one city.
Beyond the places themselves, what makes Dallas special to me is the people. This city is filled with entrepreneurs, creators, and professionals who are constantly striving to improve and build something meaningful. That mindset has had a major influence on my own journey.
When I started Rodeo Werkz, I wasn’t simply trying to install paint protection film or window tint. I wanted to create a company built around craftsmanship, attention to detail, and long-term relationships with clients. Dallas gave me the opportunity to pursue that vision, and I’m grateful to be part of a community that values hard work, excellence, and continuous growth.
If someone wanted to understand both Dallas and who I am, those are the places and experiences I would share first.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my family, my team, and every customer who trusted Rodeo Werkz long before we had a reputation.
When I started this business, I didn’t have investors, a large facility, or a recognizable brand. Like many entrepreneurs, I started with a vision, a strong work ethic, and the belief that quality still matters.
There were countless days when I was the first person to arrive and the last person to leave. Building a business from the ground up taught me that success is rarely the result of one big moment. More often, it’s the result of thousands of small decisions, sacrifices, and lessons learned over time.
My family deserves recognition because they supported me through the uncertainty that comes with entrepreneurship. My team deserves recognition because every vehicle that leaves our shop reflects their dedication and craftsmanship. And our customers deserve recognition because they trusted us with some of their most prized possessions, often before we had earned the reputation we have today.
One thing I’ve learned is that trust is built slowly and earned daily. In the automotive protection industry, customers are not simply purchasing paint protection film, ceramic coating, or window tint. They are trusting someone to preserve something they care deeply about.
Rodeo Werkz exists today because many people believed in us before success was guaranteed. For that, I will always be grateful.
As our company continues to grow, I hope we never lose the mindset that helped us get here: stay humble, keep learning, and never take a customer’s trust for granted.
