Meet Dr. Kchristshan Howard | Mother of four, Music Director, Choir Educator, Owner of Dipped by Doc, Shun & Co. Designs, and K’s Delights!

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Kchristshan Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Kchristshan, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want people to remember how I made them feel. When they interact with me, support my businesses, come to my home to fellowship, etc., I want them to always feel welcomed. Although we might meet as strangers, I want them to leave my presence feeling like family. I want them to remember that I saw them just as they were-ENOUGH. I strive to love people through all seasons and no matter their flaws, and I hope they see that my love is authentic. Building a legacy begins with every choice I make, and although I am flawed and human, I want them to know that my intentions are always pure. I want to inspire people to be the best versions of themselves, no matter the circumstance.
I also want people to remember that my children/family are my main priority. I can’t serve others without first serving and guiding the ones who depend on me the most. Being active and intentional in their lives is a must. If I don’t get anything else right in the world, I want to make sure I raise my children the best way I can.

What should our readers know about your business?
My latest business is “Dipped by Doc”, which is geared at creating chocolate and vanilla flavored treats such as Strawberries, Rice Krispie treats, Oreos, Pretzel rods/twists, CakePop discs, Cakesiscles, Marshmallows, Cheesecake, Apples, Wafers, etc. I began making treats for my 42nd birthday party in March. I wanted to try my hand at it, and when I accomplished making treats for my event, I figured I could make it into a thriving business. People have been so kind, even in the learning stages, and because of that, it has encouraged me to keep progressing. Has it been easy? For the most part, yes! Social media has made it easy to look at how others create, which inspires me to try different designs. I am not a baker, nor a decorator, so I have to really be patient with myself. I do it with love and I believe people truly understand that when they reach out to me for their orders. The customers know that I will do my best to please them and honor their requests. Challenges? Knowing that I will not always be like the next person. I am hard on myself and sometimes a perfectionist. So, if I can just get past wanting everything to always be perfect, I will be ok lol. Lessons? One of the lessons I have learned is that I can’t do everything. I can’t always take on every task and request. There is literally only one of me, and I’m also a single mom of four. So, I have learned how to say no and even to pass on orders to my other treat friends when I do not have the energy, time, or availability. Rest is not a reward, but a necessity in my life. I want the world to know that everything I do is from my heart. I truly want to bring joy, peace, and laughter into everyone’s life. Whether through music, teaching, or with chocolate….

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever, I would take them to Epic Central in Grand Prairie for waterfront dining, light shows, and live music. Then, we would take trips to “The Charlotte” in Dallas for some good catfish and spaghetti, Winsome Prime in Trinity Groves for some good Happy Hour appetizers, and my house for a fun game night and some shenanigans lol. We could even finish the weekend off at Friendship West for some good church!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I will always dedicate my shoutout to God, my children Kennedi, Kerrington, Kayden, and Kamden, my parents, best friends, and my village of supporters. Without God, I am nothing! My children are my inspiration, and my village is always there to support and lift me up when the world seems too heavy. I am grateful for all their encouraging words and prayers.
