Meet Rachel Baugh

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Baugh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our success is our team. We have an incredible staff that genuinely cares about what they do and the people they work with. There’s a lot of mutual trust and respect between us, and that creates an environment where everyone takes ownership of their work. Knowing that I can trust my team — and that they can trust me — allows us to focus on creating the best experience for every guest who walks through our doors.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Cinnaholic Richardson is a woman-owned, family-owned bakery that focuses on gourmet vegan desserts and customizable cinnamon rolls. What sets us apart is how we treat people — both our customers and our staff. We lead with kindness, respect, and the goal of making everyone’s day a little sweeter.
Our store has had quite the story! Since opening in 2016, it’s been through three owners. When the previous owners closed suddenly and let the staff go, I knew I couldn’t let that be how it ended. I’d been part of this team from the very beginning and cared too much to walk away. So in 2022, my family and I stepped in, took over the store, and brought everyone back.
The day-to-day operations came naturally since I’d been part of them for years, but learning the business side was definitely a challenge. It’s been a “learn as you go” experience, but I’m so grateful for my mom’s business background — she’s been a huge part of keeping everything running smoothly.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that a team who truly cares about what they do makes all the difference. My job is to make sure they have a fun, safe, and supportive environment to work in. When your team feels valued, that energy naturally shows in everything — and that’s what keeps Cinnaholic Richardson special.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for the week, I’d definitely want to show them what makes Richardson such a great place to live and work.
We’d start the trip with cinnamon rolls and coffee at Cinnaholic Richardson — obviously the best way to kick things off. After that, I’d take them shopping at Lone Chimney Mercantile, one of my favorite local spots for unique finds and gifts. For lunch, we’d grab tacos from Tacos Y Más or head to Partenope Pizza for some of the best Neapolitan-style pizza around.
In the afternoons, we’d explore a bit — maybe take a stroll through Downtown Richardson or check out one of the local parks. For a fun day trip, we’d head into Dallas to visit the Perot Museum of Nature and Science or spend a few hours at the Dallas Arboretum and White Rock Lake — both are perfect for relaxing and taking in the view.
Evenings would be all about good food and good company — whether that’s dinner back at Partenope, dessert at Cinnaholic, or just hanging out and enjoying the Richardson community.
What I love most about this area is that it has a little bit of everything — amazing local restaurants, small businesses that care, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home. It’s the kind of place that’s easy to fall in love with.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give my shoutout to my parents. They were the ones who taught me what hard work really looks like and how important it is to show up and give your best. Their work ethic and encouragement have stuck with me and helped shape how I lead and grow Cinnaholic Richardson today.
